There are few methods of suicide faster or more effective than a bullet to the head.  Overdose, for example, is not always fatal - those that attempt ODing may be caught and given the counsel they need. Those that try hanging themselves or jump off a building may not actually manage to do so properly or be stopped in the process. Motive means nothing.
