No way! What Nate says about Brenda is totally true she uses her childhood to be a total C**t from h**l and other people go through really bad stuff (eg. Maggie who loses her 2 year old to cancer and still treats people beautifully!) and nate is basically saying that happiness doesnt have ot be a burden. I totally agree with him and am glad at the end when he doesn't want ot be with her. Although I do like the way she doesnt pander to a guys every whim.

i don't care what anyone says - nate is so cruel to her in this scene. brenda had an addiction - an issue - it wasn't something she was proud of. nate had random sex with tons of girls after he split up with her - and yet he wouldn't stop for a second to try and understand the shit brenda was doing wasn't personal to him at all.

ok people supposedly can't stand brenda or don't understand her - but she's simply a woman that doesn't go out of her way to overload a man's ego.
