  • Looks like it was filmed on the observation deck of the RCA (now GE) building in Rockefeller Center, NYC on a hot hazy day.

  • @dfc99nyc It was, and before they put up the tall glass barriers. It was just an open deck in those days, and so much better for it. Best view in all of NYC.

  • @JET997u Haven't been on the obs deck since 1974. Open decks rare today, safety and insurance issues I guess.

  • Paris 1994, 'T' dance Sunday, Les Palais, Gloria!

    Last song. "What?" she asked.

"Honey Bee!" my English speaking impertanent self yelled.

"Honey Bee!" those so many French boys yelled around me.

    "Really?" she cried.

We all cried. She cried, And she sang on.

"She never does this," I was told.

I guess like us all she didn't know how much she was loved.

  • Love the video, it charms the minds!

    Made me FEEL IT!

Now, it's the women who demand attraction, from the men.

  • Ah her voice is brill!! Love this funky beat

  • Brilha beeeeeeeeeee

  • very 70ish

  • Early Disco

  • Whats wrong with their teeth?

  • Gnarls Barkley did the same !! Firts appearence with new ones on David Letherman

  • You gotta love babes in Afros.

  • did she get her teeth capped? look closely

  • @pnello Very obviously. The teeth look bad outdoors. On the indoor shots, the teeth are perfect.

  • @mrstep2me

I thought it was me that noticed her teeth were jacked up and then inside they were beautiful. I guess she got them fixed in-between shooting the video/promo. I would have re-shot the whole video. Awe the 70's, lol. On another note, love, love, love Gloria and this song.

  • This is the best dance music... back when dance music was fun.

  • @JET997u I agree with you. My parents and my babysitters would play this song when I was little and still like this song 30+ later. The appearance could be better but I love listening to this song.

  • 0:40 XDDDDDDDDD

  • I saw Gloria in a small club in Astoria, I think it was called the Nite Cap in 1975 or 76. A guy in the audience called out between sets, "Sting Me!". And Gloria was so cool. /She laughed real hard and said, "Yeah, I'll sting you, baby!"

  • What I like in these times is the fact that Singers were popular because They Have Talent , now it's all about the appearence :(

  • @XCutePupa You're right, first talent, then appearance

  • @XCutePupa People were saying the same thing back then. Every generation repeats the same thing about looks.

  • @TruthSerum101 Yep because the more it gets far in making music videos and music ... the more it is based on appearence, sex, and weirdo stuff . I feel like everything was better before our time now and I'm only 19 . lol

  • @XCutePupa Actually, looks and sex appeal have always played a huge role in show biz - back to the days of vaudeville, etc. Along with that, there have always been attractive people who were also very talented. People with less traditional looks have always had a platform too. They still do. Lady Gaga and CeeLo immediately come to mind.

  • @TruthSerum101 Yeah but I mean like , it's just getting worst today ...with Naked girls with mediocre talent singing about sex and clueless lyrics making people like clones and stupid fans :/ And a lot of songs sounds all the same and ugh it just sucks lol I don't listen to (new) american music anymore . But I go with the culture of other countries and gosh it's so much more better

  • @XCutePupa There have always been scantily clad women N show biz. Busby Berkely dancers, Josephine Baker, Cher, Betty Grable, Carmen Miranda, Madonna, Tina Turner, etc.

There's always been bad music too - good music is what endures - it's what we remember but I have many albums from the eighties & seventies that R just awful. Good music is still around, U just have 2 look 4 it - but with the internet it's not that hard 2 find.

  • @TruthSerum101 Yeah I know there's still good music but I prefer the non-american one :P Because in usa they don't make Rai , Tallava , Valle , Rai n B and other unique stuff like that ;)

  • This is MUCH better than "I Will Survive"! Yuck.....the only disco song I can't stand!

  • I remember this song when I was in grammar school in the 70s.

  • Wish I'd been alive in the 70's!

  • AMAIZING

  • Amazing... All that press coverage at 2:25, photographer and all, to document her new dental work!

  • fantasia

  • what happened to that big gap in between her teeth when shes inside LOL? anyways, this is soooo 1970s NYC it just oozes through the screen =)

  • Wow, 1st track on the album. What a buzz, still.

Remember Sweeneys in the Valley 1975 with Toy De Wilde

  • what a crazy discovery. i like the bees sound at the beginning. its a must for a song called honey bee and a must to make it different

  • I love this song this whole album was great....doesen't she look like Glodean from Love Unlimited?

  • 1:25 B.O. is bad news, you can never be too cautious xD

  • I love how her teeth are fixed in the 'indoor' bits!

  • One of the first "anthem" dance albums - songs blended, capturing audiences, and giving DJ's a chance to pee.

  • wow why can`t todays music create the same beat it beats me to death

  • @sgwars525671

it's not important that new music try to be as good as retro music. what matters is that radio, satellite radio and other outlets play good retro songs instead of playing crap simply because it is newer.

  • awesome!!! only for number one...

  • aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa dios que chico era al escuchar estou!!!!! mamanoi sabia que me educaba mientras limpiaba la casa escuchando a Glori!

  • awesome!

  • Come on and sting me...

    Your always so dizzy..

    your always buzzing buzzing buzzing...

  • Love this video ! Great track (released twice, on different labels and in different mixes !) Gloria's great but those girls are hilarious !

  • NICE GIRLS !

  • This song was co-written by the Steals Brothers who wrote "Could It Be I'm Falling in Love by the Spinners. Honey Bee is a great disco song. Thanks for sharing.

  • I danced on top of a bar in Boston with Gloria oh so long ago to 'I Will Survive'

    Great video here!!

  • where did this video get shot??

  • It's on top of the GE Building in Rockefeller Center, NYC. The open-air deck is now called Top of the Rock, and it's the best view in all of the city (better than the Empire State Building). Go up sometime at twilight.... fantastic.

  • I saw 10 seconds of this on VH-1 profile of GG and almost lost my mind, THANK YOU for posting this entire clip!

  • It's part of a G.G. trilogy — along with "I never can say goodbye" and "Reach out (I'll be there)". They used to play them linked together in that order, and it sounded GREAT!!!!!!
