  • As you can see by my username i like chaos and i was wondering what the chao does is it just to show or does it do something ?

  • @Dylanthechao Yes, there's a screenshot on the ModDB page of Tails. Although, the model may be changed later, that's the current model for the project.

  • @Algera96 No, there's still no set release date, just sometime in February. All I have left for the initial release is; Fixing a few things, maybe adding a few objects, creating a logo, and adding the controls sub-menu. All of which wouldn't take long, it's just tedious to do it.

  • @Algera96 Well, it's not canceled. I posted two screenshots the other day. And believe it or not, the main reasons why I haven't posted a whole lot about this are: The first reason being that I have done far too much to actually state in an update log. And the second being the fact that I'm near the point of releasing it, so there's no point in making any kind of post if I'm just going to do it again soon after.

  • @LordShadow95 SonicFreak94 ripped both parts of the stage. I simply cut the video. However, there are teleporters, so it's possible to just instantly appear over there.

  • @SweaterSwagg You need to be a bit more specific. Do you mean the player model? Or do you mean something else, like the stage models, or the object models?

  • @SweaterSwagg Well, I can link you to the original model, but it wouldn't have my extra animations, and SonicFreak94's cell-shaded effect.

  • @SweaterSwagg No, but I can export it to OBJ, and then pretty much anything else from there. The only problem with that method, is that animation would be deleted.

  • @2lovejune I really don't understand where you were going with your first comment. I didn't make the stage, so I'm not going to work on something I have no interest in working on. And if you were just throwing an idea out there, and wanted feedback, I suppose that's fine. But why did you make that kind of suggestion on here? This video isn't necessarily about the stages. Just to clear this up; You are aware that this is an engine worklog video, right? So, the stages were used for demonstrations.

  • @iRaeNicole Please understand that this is currently in development, so I have no intention of releasing it yet. Also, please look at all of the information before asking for a download link. I've already gotten quite a few comments about download links, a few of which I've replied to. There's a link in the description for the ModDB page, and it specifically states that the release date is TBD(To be decided).

  • Great work on the multiplayer. About the desynchronizing of objects, can't you make one player "host" the game (player 1 I suppose) and send the position of those objects to other players (or have you already done that, since this video is a few months old already)? Also can other players collect rings (and monitors), and do they disappear for all players?

    Also it's nice to see you're giving credit me for something so little as positioning a stage, I appreciate you're thinking of everything :)

  • @11Supersonic11 Well, currently the system works like this: When a player brakes an object, it is broken on another person's end, this is due to their position. When a player does such, they send the object number and type to the host. The host then writes this to a readable file, and sends it to incoming players. In addition, when a player joins, and there's something like an out of place ring, the player who had made a ring to be out of place, would then send out the number, and the position.

  • @LordShadow95 First off, I'm the one developing this, so I can tell you now that it hasn't been released yet. And as for the IP address, that's a local IP address, not a public one. So to not go into too much detail, an ISP gives you an IP address, and it's your own unique address. But when you use something like a router, each device connected has a local IP. And a local IP is usually something like the IP I used in the video. Others not on my network would have to use my public IP.

  • @coolblue6650 I'm glad you asked that, because I was just looking into text chat more. I've just tried something, and it's working. The only problem with this system that I can see, is that Blitz 3D can't handle this very well. I tested with the dedicated server, and I sent 300 messages, and the result was 90FPS. My average framerate with a resolution of 1280 x 720 is normally 150-230, and that's with AA(Anti aliasing) and AF(Anisotropic filtering), which are at 8X, and 16X.

  • @TheUltrayTR Part 1: Well, a lot of people seem to not understand that I'm developing an engine, and a game(To some extent). My main goal is to make the engine heavily customizable, and to have the game utilize the engine. I doubt it'll stay this way due to my laziness, but it's what I'd like to do. So for example: I'd release the source code/the engine. Then after that, I'd be focusing on more 'game-like' features. I apologize for this being more than one part, you can thank Youtube for that.

  • @TheUltrayTR Part 2: So things like menus and characters, would be the kind of thing for a game created with the engine, more than just the engine. Generally, I'd like to add on to the Blitz Sonic Engine, more than take it over and make it a game. My last edit was an attempt at that, and oh look, I got lazy and didn't bother finishing it, I wonder why... So I'd like to add more onto the engine we already have, so it isn't as 'primitive' and overly simplistic.

  • @r543Blitzsonic Super Sonic isn't currently working as I said. And when, or if it will, it would send a message to all users, which would essentially tell them to change that player's model on their end. It's pretty simple for something like that, it just takes quite a bit of time to do. And after that, I need to set up another "channel" for it to send the message on the text chat(Yes, it more or less works). Also keep in mind that It's per-player, so I have to do it 3-4 times.

  • @r543Blitzsonic Oh, and not to mention animation, which will need to be set up for three or four players. And animation was annoying enough before, so I may just have it animate off of the same messages.

  • @manicDX Yes, and no. I need to see what I can do about the FX system, so I can get it to work. Because for the moment, the "Text" command doesn't work with it. I may be able to get names above people's heads as well, but that might not happen. But right now, my main focus is on getting all of the objects to work. I currently have working, visible shields, and several monitors working.

  • Really nice work, there. I would imagine it must be a bit of a pain to code something for online play.

    Are you planning create a way to distinguish players from eachother? Because if you're playing with more than one other player then it may be a pain to tell who is who otherwise.

  • @2xy3 I really don't find it all that bad for things like monitors, rings, springs, and things of that nature. If I have the chao, or the boxes work online though, that's another story. And I was thinking about using the "Text" command in Blitz3D to have the player's name above their head. Using this command in this nature I'd say is pretty easy, but for some reason, the text won't show up. I currently have three working players by the way, accept for the animation on the third one though.
