I've never heard this song before, but I must say, fell in love. So soft, sweet and mellow. If i could I'd pop this on one of my discs and take it with me on travells around my beautiful New Zealand. So much scenery here that would be so much more excentuated with this track. Awesome guys, keep it up.
@MissLark59 That's really sweet of you to say so, and we are very pleased with the compliment. As you can tell from other comments around here, not everybody agrees that it is a good rendition - some seem to think it is too rushed. They probably have the original in mind which is of course by the late great John Martyn. So, credit where credit is due, make sure you listen to the song, it's here on YT in various versions by the man himself. Thanks anyway, feel free to check out our other stuff.
I agree- this did not do the song justice. Good voice and playing, but the song sounds too rushed at this speed, especially when you attempt to sing the words with the same rhythm, only faster!
Thanks for doing this at the festival - really enjoyed it. You are so engaging as a singer and performer. I don't think you quite realise how good you actually are, and the fact that you come across as likeable on stage gives you extra appeal for the audience. The collaboration is so good and so natural.
wow - thanks, Alex! your kind words are obviously much appreciated... but you know what? the admiration is mutual ! see you soon, take care of yourself,
thanks a lot ! do come to the festival - you know that it has been put forward to Friday 20 June ? with the Dutch national soccer team playing on Saturday, nobody would show up...!
thanks Jesse! and don't forget now, check out the real thing: John Martyn has released a wealth of song material over the past 40-odd years! one way to start is to watch the playlist I put together, click on the 'see all playlists' link on my channel...
thanks for your kind words, Scotty and Libby! feel free to check out our other cover material. I like the beautiful photos on your channel. and yes, the universe doesn't cease to amaze me !
