The news helicopter that filmed this was looking down at the contrail. Also note the velocity the object is traveling. Nothing less then a fighter jet could stand the stress of that angle and speed. In the video you can see the flames burning out of the object. Do me a favor and type in rocket launch on google images. Look familiar
@OperationDx1 it wasn't below 20,000 feet it was exactly at 37,000 feet, track AWE808 on that evening and you'll see that it passed DIRECTLY over Catalina Island at EXACTLY the time of this contrail. How can you even say it was looking down on it? The horizon line is in the lower half of the shot and there is a Stratocumulus between it and the aircraft its filming. The velocity is 487 knots, there are no flames it's reflection of the fuselage. Look up Occam's Razor, maybe you'll learn something.
