I love this movie but the only thing is...megagodzilla, i mean godzilla looks realistic and sinister but mega-godzilla looks like a big fckin plastic toy.....they could make it more realistic...thats why it looks weird..come on japan!!! make everything realistic pls...like 1998 godzilla movie, i know it was floap movie but it was realistic too...so just imagine if japan godzilla movies will become realistic then how much better they will look.

It's a serperate continuity (different timeline) than any of the other Godzilla movies. None of the other movies "happened" as far as this film is concerned. In case you didn't know, the Showa series (1954-1975), and Heisei series (1984-1995) are also seperate timelines, and most of the movies from the millienium series (1999-2004) have their own timlines as well. Each series declares that only the first film actually happened before that particular series began.

Each movie in the Millineum series is it's own timeline as well, with the exception of Godzilla: Tokyo S.O.S., which is a direct sequel to this movie.

Because the Millenium series has this "muilti-timeline" aspect, the creators can change features of Godzilla to their liking, such as details of the body shape and size, and the color of the ray.

It never says in any of the films that the 1954 Godzilla is the parent of any of the subsequent Godzillas, you COULD be right, but Toho's never supported that theory.

Also, the reason why Kiryu went berserk is because Godzilla's roar sparked memories of its own rampage back in 1954, and it momentarily regained some sense of itself.
