No, my fingers themselves don't hurt, it's the pads. I've been practicing guitar more often, so this is no longer an issue (got some callouses). I don't like low bridges, and it's all preference. I'm sure the very knowledgeable violists could tell us if there's a sound thing about the height of the bridge, I wouldn't know.

If you're really asking, a viola is larger than a violin, and it reads in alto clef versus treble clef. If you're wanting the punchline to the joke... nothing, the violinist's head is just bigger. :)
