@ParodyBone You were a little bit wrong about one thing. He DID have full control. All the control surfaces operate seperatly from the engines. Even though they were off, battery power was still on, and he had full rudder right up till the moment he stopped moving. That is how he kept it on center so well. But it is still a marvelous example of skill over panic. He is the man.

Ofcourse the engines were shut down, you don't want the props to dig into the runway at full rpm. Makes things messy.

Oh please..yes it was nice to stop the props by feathering but these idiots on TV.."spun the engines right off their mounts"..Yeah right SURE they would..and the "bimbo with her heart going pitta patter" like Everybody elses... I don't think so..Gear up landings happen all the time, mostly by mistake and there is no drama whatsoever..except to the owners pocket for the repairs...

@frankandmarci if the props were still and he didn't feather the props, the impact with the props and the ground could've taken those engines right off the mounts... it doesn't take much of an impact to bust an engine mount...

Bailey age 16 and Maggie age 18 were also on the plane. They did not get to get off yet because Bay was crying to much and Maggie was still throwing up. Ms Terri was praying the whole time and so was the girls. They did an amazing job and so did Mr Doug. I'm glad my best friend is okay though.

I believe the body is made of aluminum which does not spark ... and no steel parts were exposed on the hull. I am 90% that's the reason we see no sparks

I was one of the Air Traffic Controllers for this landing. When I was one on one with the pilot, he wasn't nervous. He later told me he was in a situation like this that had seemed worse, but wasn't. Anyways, I actually connected one of the passengers to their wife to say I love you.
