  • Sounds like a great performance by my favorite orchestra of my (and some say their) favorite composer! It's 2012 and I wonder if the recording is still available? Maybe at least for download, or for $50 bucks on eBay. lol

  • I was in the Dessoff tenor section. We did 4 performances - the consensus was that Friday was best. The opening was much slower than the Robert Shaw recording, but we thought Maazel's approach masterful. We were prepared over a 6-month period by Shaw disciple James Bagwell. While trombones gave their usual virtuoso performance, from my seat the percussion and trumpets were beyond spectacular. Who was the organist? Kent Tritle, who knows Dessoff well having been our music director for 8 years.

  • I think you are a fat fuck and that you have no business criticizing anyone. Anthony Dean Griffey has forgotten more than you have ever learned. Stop going to concerts and go on a diet so we don't have to see your fat face and grose ugly looks. Enough already. Go sell crazy another place, we are all full here.

  • I think based upon my own sittings and interpretations of mahler 8 is fanominal. I considered this symphony to be classic mahler but however more importantly this piece brings an amazing symphonic volume to the emotional depth that this piece of course brings.
