the reason that one cost more is the fact that every piece had to be put together by hand when they made the muffler. that is the only difference between the high dollar ones and the cheaper ones. the cheaper ones can be ran on a line at about 225-300 mufflers made an hour depending on the line it's ran on. the more expensive ones are only ran at about 100 mufflers in 10hrs because of doing everything by hand...or atleast thats the reason they give us in the plant I work at.

@macaddict3032 actually, compare a Dynomax Ultraflo SS model with the same Magnaflow and they're equal in price, in fact the Mag is usually a few bucks cheaper, Magnaflows are all stainless and come with lifetime warranties, Dynomax also uses aluminized steel which rusts
