I was so very fortunate to see & hear Michael in San Raphael Ca, 1988. It altered my whole concept of music at that time. He was definitely one of a kind!
Thanks for posting this!! Michael's inspired me like no other, and it really looked like he was having a great time, which is so nice to see =) know where that concert footage was shot? Loved the water in the background...
When I listen to all of the Michael Hedges tapping/slapping clones, all I hear are technicians. Michael found a primal groove that lifted the music beyond the mere dazzling technique that everyone else focuses on.
Word up.....the acoustic guitar is a percussive instrument not a percussion instrument. I'm not turned by those you see literally playing drums on the back and sides of the guitar...sounds mediocre at best.
i kept freezing the video on the first strum of ritual dance !! michaels leg in the air ..with the concentration of a chess player.. and harmonics flying out into space...what a sight !! who else in this world begins a song with such venom ???
Has anyone noticed that no other guitar player ,no matter what their level of playing, can recreate a hedges tune [Dare i say properly !?],i guess its because he is the music. !!??
you know .. i wear my seatbelt religously after learning of michaels senseless demise :( .. love the guy .. so sad i'll never get to meet him .. :( .. thanks for posting . 5 stars

The guitar sounds he gets on this video, especially on the D28 for Jitterboogie still amazes me....it does not sound amplified!!! but it is!!!

Can't stop watching these clips. Incredible. Like Hendrix, he just becomes one with the instrument.
