Nope. New ENGLAND was named after England where they speak ENGLISH, but people up in New England speak a language based on English, but I have a hard time understanding it. As we all should know, NYC is home to many immigrant groups so English was corrupted there as well. Of course throughout the Tri-state region, this NYC metro area is pretty uniform in it's place around NYC. My point was that foliage is not unique to some place called New England.

I was replying to your first paragraph, last sentence. They call themselves New England despite being the place of the revolution, but New York and New Jersey, too, were part of that revolution, and I'm sure New York is not named after some place in America...
