At 0:05 you can -see- the knife gimmick on the back of the right hand after he tosses the loose knife in the air.

Gotta watch that when performing. It's easy to naturally curl your hand inwards when manipulating props. Otherwise, it's a very nice illusion.

There are two objects involved. One is a "half a knife" prop that was attached to the back of his right hand from before the start of the video. That can be seen at 0:05. The other is the knife prop placed under the cup. The knife prop under the cup is not the same object that is attached to his hand from the start.

He keeps that prop out of sight (mostly), then slaps his hand down on an empty cup. Then you can see it clearly.
