Husky, just want to say that I remember when this has 5000 views. Congratulations on 100K. One of my favourite videos on youtube, and I've seen a lot of videos. Are you going to do MK3DS videos if it has snaking?

@olimopoli Thanks man! From the gameplay videos, it looks like mk3ds (or mk7) doesn't have snaking. It looks more like the mkwii cars in terms of drifting/MTing, which I didn't really care for. I'm not sure if I'm gonna get a 3ds, but if I do, I'll give mk7 a try. And I'll do some videos if I enjoy the game.

@Husky217 I have a 3DS and I'll let you know if it does or not when it comes out :) Yeah mkwii SUCKED pretty bad. The levels were half decent but the cars and the bikes? I mean wtf -.- A cool thing is that mk7 has 8 players online instead of 4 like mkds and it has some remade levels of mkds (not sure which ones though)

@satan915 Pretty much. Wario Stadium is the only other track with an unintended shortcut, but it's a lakitu glitch shortcut similar to the RR "pipe sc".

how do you hold onto the rail? I can boost to it and land ontop of it. I follow the railing for 1 second and i slip and fall off. :(

@TheUltraman123456789 you just gotta carefully steer along the edge, there's no trick to it. it's tough, I fell off way more times than I pulled off the sc. I would always try to adjust the angle/direction of the kart while in the air to match the loop edge, then try not to steer or adjust too much. it's easy to over steer, then you either go left back inside the loop, or go right and fall off.

@TheUltraman123456789 no, it works with other karts. every kart should be possible. the wider the kart, the easier it is to pull off though.

You're probably the only karter who got strong times on this track who could MT consistently before using the shroom for the SC. Most other people lose control of time in which to hop off.

@federeriscol that was actually a really old strat and shroomspot (on 1 of the laps), so I had plenty of practice with it :P It was due to that strat that I found the rail sc.

Then, I think it was either NyKo or G-danzee who started doing a R MT at the end of the turn to jump down to the loop. That freed up the shroom, which was then moved to the hairpin turn before the corkscrew/2nd loop.

So newer karters may never have even done the old strat to get good at L MTing and shrooming there.

I've heard, but missed the video that was barely up before he took it down. I would want it to be real and see it, but it seems no one is really convinced of it since it came out shortly after TAS runs began popping up in mkds. That with him being unknown and no 2 lap sc run first makes it hard to believe. Unfortunately TAS is going to bring doubt to many new WRs now, especially from ppl who aren't TB1 :P

Well, I never saw the video... but it is impossible to do a 3lap rail sc.

I've done it a few times, but even if you land on the rail it pushes you off, you need really good control.

You can do it w/ shroom, and you can do it w/o shroom. It's only a matter of time before someone does a shroom sc, non - shroom sc and a non - shroom sc, or maybe even an all 3 laps of non - shroom scd.

That was pretty much cast out as fake since he took down the video and didn't seem to care much about answering questions, though I guess you can choose to believe what you want since there's no real proof either way. Most of the run wasn't very tight, so my best guess is that he just used save-states before the jumps. But, who knows?

If you're not able to land on the rail, just focus on lining up before the jump. David (u should ask him too) doesn't MT before the shroom, and he's good at it.

Once in the air, turn the kart so it's lined up straight with the right edge of the track/loop. Try not to move around much once you land, then hope for the best haha. hope that helps, good luck!

It's really tough, I only got it about 10 times out of thousands of tries. I wasn't that good at it, just tried a lot :P

It saves about 2.5 seconds. For slower karters, it's not really worth it. However, for the top players, even a tenth of a second is significant. And it's usually just a matter of a fraction of a second that separates the world record, so something that can save 2.5 seconds is insane. An ok run with this sc will crush a great run without it.

Well, with the BLS, you'd have to shroom first b/c of the pipe sc after. You'd lose any shrooms you hold onto.

Yeah, I think standard rob would be faster than bls if it gets 2 rail shortcuts (compared to the bls getting 1). I don't think it would be a huge difference though. You'd have to skip the pipe sc on the 1st lap to keep the shroom. Landing the rail sc on the 2nd lap would make up for that and more, but the bls is also a little faster, so it would close in a little bit.

yh, but the pipe sc saves a second, and the rail sc about 2.3-2.5, so its quicker (but, like you said, the bls is faster, so it would make up for the loss)

No, but the middle of the kart doesn't work well like you said. I've got another video of me landing this with the standard rb kart, which has no extra parts hanging off. Try to get about 1/4 of the kart on, the rest hanging off.

Yes. BLS is one of the widest karts to help with the shortcut. And even without the shortcut, the BLS is the fastest kart for RR.
