Salam silat... I learned silat since i was young. i dont have any ideas for other martial arts. i knew it from my grand grand father. I like learnd silat , same as im going to focus on mind and balance the power of nature. Thank you.

im just curious but how many branches are there in silat? im certain it varies from region to region in southeast asia (malaysia, indonesia, brunei and some parts of the philippines)

pencak silat is for everyone.....this martial art background was actually from the war.....it is very deadly and effective to kill people.....even without touch the enemy directly....it is possible for high level........but please it should be for self defence and peace purposes only....basically in this art u can use any style....there are many style in pencak silat depend on the region background.......

There are some very good pesilat from many nations, and there are some terrible ones, same is true in Indonesia. There are good people in all nations.
