The beggining anouncer voice of this song sounded like he said " We Sending Bodies To War." But , I know now & realized he said "We're Sending Boys To War." The accent threw me off. ... May as well be We're Sending "bodies" To War. That is what they end up being in the end.

I am a big PH fan and it's poignant that 25 years on he revisits the song again including the british. I have about 6 mixes of the orginal and release in 1995 so looking forward to the 2010 mix to finish it off. Agree with him that this should be the final time he gets involved with remixing 19 - let it go now.

Actually the average age in Vietnam was 23. Average age of a soldiers who died in Iraq and Afghanistan is 30.

Depends on where you look about Vietnam,

There are several vets associations who say it was in fact 19 in Vietnam,

As for Afghanistan after reading Paul's explanation about this version, he doesn't say it was 19 in Afghanistan , but quotes the The Officer who says the age of the soldiers he is taking to war are 19, guess that point can't be disputed,

Hope the release goes well, Paul. It is a hard call. We all want to support the troops but wonder where it will end. It does sound all too familiar. I don't think there is any lack of respect for the efforts of the troops in questioning how to deal with the problem. There is no doubt that much of what the west has done is inflammatory to many in that area. But the values of the fundamentalists, in their oppressionof women and all human rights, is abhorrent. Where and how will it end?
