@KangoTV I know what you mean. Is this period, 1987, when Bono started wearing shades more regularly? Hmmm...very cosmic this entire thing, but then, that's how I feel about U2, spiritual for sure!
WOW!! It's amazing how seeing Carrie Underwood with Steven Tyler perform made me do a search for her, where I find her doing "Crying" by RO, then a number of searches later gets me to THIS clip! U2 - my favorite band ever and RO - the BEST male volcalist ever!! And I never knew the 2 were connected anyway till now! What a shore 52 year for a man with such an AMWAZING VOICE!!!
I noticed that the composer of Mystery Girl is a Dr David Evans. Is this bonio's real name or could it be the real name of The Edge, the true writer/composer of this Roy Orbison classic?
@musiccleverman It's composed, as they both say, by Bono & Edge together (they also produced the album in question). Dave Evans and Paul Hewson are their real names.
I personally love hearing the story about Roy. Makes you feel closer to him. I love the song Mystery Girl, and I'm thankful that Bono gave the song to Roy. Great job!
Roy Orbison had such a tragic life... Watched his biography, it is so tragic! How he performed/produced such music after it all, is just amazing! God bless him!
Don't anyone ever tell me there's no God because divine intervention went on there. Roy's voice is one of the few can bring me to tears or joy or just bliss. Bono is just pure bliss!
That album is one of the greatest from Roy and in the history of music. The likes of Bono, Tom Petty, and Jeff Lynne collaborating in this master piece.
What a great clip. Roy has spanned the ages of Rock. There's a story that George Harrison told about going to hear Roy with Jeff Lynn. They went back stage to see Roy and said that they were forming a group with Tom Petty. Was Roy interested? He said count me in. While driving away George kept repeating that he couldn't believe he was in a band with Roy. It must be hard to impress a Beatle. Dylan came along later.
3 We recognise these rare moments of convergence but forget all the other millions of times it didn't happen .Coincidences are awesomely cool but not supernatural .

"she's a mystery to me" ("mystery girl is the album sorry^^) is my féavourite roy's song.I love hiss style in his song, his words, his way of getting dressed...(my english perfect because I'm french, sorry :S)
What an exceptional song Bono wrote. And thats incredibly generous of him to let Roy Orbison record it. After hearing that song, you cant imagine anyone else sing it. Roy Orbison was perfect for that song
When I first Roy sing "Mystery Girl," I immediately fell in love with it, and it gave me goose bumps. Thanks Bono for writing and producing this song for Roy!
Yes it is a truly amazing story. The first time I have heard about it. Not to get to deep on everyone, but our thoughts create our own reality. We all come from the same place and sometimes we just get on the same frequency. As Bono said, "Sounds like complete bullshit." Ahh...but it's not a coincidence. It's real. Ed
I bought the Mystery Girl record way before I knew of this story and of course after he had passed away. I was floored on how contemporay it was, here was this legend who was considered by people my age as being an Oldies performer singing UnRoy Orbison like. This story is awesome. Mystery Girl is one of my all-time favorite songs, and I had no idea that it came about this way. Now I love it even more. Miss you, Roy!
Amazing voice of Orbison..AND at this point in his life it had declined somewhat!
Not only one of the greatest voices ever but he WROTE some of the finest classics.
Some Orbison masterpieces approach operatic and shortly before his death,Pavarotti was in the selection process of making an album based on Orbison songs.
What a great story of Kharma. What a blessing for Bono. Roy truly had the voice of an angel. When you listen you feel like your having an outer body experience. A voice as smooth as silk. A range unmatched. He was truly tested in life.If you could ask for the gift of a voice from the Lord I have no doubt in my mind Roy had the present.Close your eyes and enjoy his voice. Let your soul soak in it.
By the way - if you don't own the Roy Orbison album "Mystery Girl"...do yourself a great big favor and go buy it right now...it will literally change your life.
No so sure about that. Yes his voice is better but he's a completely different type of character. Just can't imagine Roy doing the leg moves regardless of how beautiful he was.

Aww I love this story. Roy Orbison seems like such a sweet and nice man. He is incredibly talented and a fantastic singer/songwriter. His voice is absolutely beautiful, just like Bono said: He has the voice of an angel. I love Roy Orbison. He is one in a billion.
Good song, good writer, great singer, amazing story! Bono may be telling the truth unvarnished or making it all up, I can't tell. But he tells such a good yarn I couldn't care less.
Wow. He tells so many odd stories, you kinda HAVE to be a BIT sceptical. Well *I* do, anyway. Amazing artists and a beautiful (and much under-rated) song.

Aww I love this story. Roy Orbison seems like such a sweet and nice man. He is incredibly talented and a fantastic singer/songwriter. His voice is absolutely beautiful, just like Bono said: He has the voice of an angel. I love Roy Orbison. He is one in a billion.

Roy permanece atual. A voz dele é incrível, e as melodias preenchem todos os espaços.

Good song, good writer, great singer, amazing story! Bono may be telling the truth unvarnished or making it all up, I can't tell. But he tells such a good yarn I couldn't care less.

No there is an interview Roy did two days before he died in Akron Ohio and Roy stated the whole thing as Bono does here literally word for word. LOL.

Wow. He tells so many odd stories, you kinda HAVE to be a BIT sceptical. Well *I* do, anyway. Amazing artists and a beautiful (and much under-rated) song.
