I personally think the people that dislike his newer stuff don't realize exactly how much that is. His style has changed, yeah. It's become more subtle, but his basic groove is still there, and his joy for playing. I don't get why people don't understand that...
I respect his technical ability very much... but I think just because you can fill spaces with more notes doesn't mean you should do it all the time! It almost sounds too cluttered.

i dont like cobus. he is good and i give him that he has excellent technique but he just plays pop covers. all moderately easy songs. i want to see him do a Quo Vadis cover or an opeth cover.
@bodomtopps i dont know, i think that's kind of a thoughtless comment. not to bash your prefered typed of music, because i actually just looked up opeth, and there good, but you have to remember that even these pop covers that cobus does are really pretty intricate. Alot of the fills are not only creative but ive seen some fills that contain quite a bit (alot) of speed and precision.

i dont like cobus. he is good and i give him that he has excellent technique but he just plays pop covers. all moderately easy songs. i want to see him do a Quo Vadis cover or an opeth cover.

@bodomtopps i dont know, i think that's kind of a thoughtless comment. not to bash your prefered typed of music, because i actually just looked up opeth, and there good, but you have to remember that even these pop covers that cobus does are really pretty intricate. Alot of the fills are not only creative but ive seen some fills that contain quite a bit (alot) of speed and precision.

too many 16th notes on hi hat.. stop hitting that fucking bell in the middle of your fills it doesnt sound good.. sometime u do too much, almost as if your playing like u got too much to prove,your not stayin in the pocket either, pay attention to carter, but dude you got talent though bro

I don't get why people are upset that it was not covered note for note. I actually takes a lot more talent to be able to understand the music enough to know what sounds good, not just read what is on the page.
