I love Ian Dury's music and am very glad that my parents had "The Best Of Ian Dury" in a CD pile. I was singing this once when I when I was 5 years old, just before I was going to school, my mum told me not to sing it when I was there, I asked her why and she said,
@AlexGoldhill Target got a parody of it on Aussie TV atm! Really lame! I said just last night to my 2 female friends the poor Ian would be rolling in his grave if he could hear it.
@me1onhead I once saw him playing with Wilco J - when he broke a bass string mid tune. He carried on playing, using the remaining strings, while a roadie restrung the missing one. Amazing.
i remember hearing this as a kid loving it not having a clue what it was about and did i find out

@talkingpointless Why? You can't even hear his guitar. And I think it's good, it gives a reagge-ish feel to the song. Wilco is great man!

Pity it took me almost 30 years to appreciate this mans talent!
I remember when this song came out. I liked it but didn't appreciate its significance! I was too young to...(wasn't a muso then either!)

Then if this the official video - how about remastering it?

@alcockell MY thoughts EXACTLY!! At least a hi-fi audio track!

Such a classic. Shame frosties butchered it, but that seems to be the fate of great songs.

Even his voice was parodied!
Disgusting!

Loving Norm's Bass. Arguably one of the UK's underrated bass players.

@me1onhead The one thing Norman most definitely isn't is underrated!

@me1onhead I agree 110% with that bro. He carries the entire track almost single handedly.
Ian looks great on this, still sadly missed and we'll never see his like again..
