I recently traveled the world (California - Germany) to marry my finace; however, she gave me the engagement ring back after only 3 days; & on Christmas night she called a taxi to pick me up & take me to the airport. I was supposed to spend 18 days with her (my soulmate or so I believed). I flew back to California and then decided to visit family in Florida. Every crisis is a blessing, yet we are often blinded by emotional attachments to see these blessings. Any words of wisdom? Thank You.
This is such a good scene...why did you edit it? You titled the clip "I didn't forget about you, and it pisses me off," but you don't show her being pissed off.
The best scene is after he listens to her tell him how she is dying inside, and then tells her what his life is like. This clip cuts that part out and I can't find it anywhere on youtube. But he tells her how he has this dream over and over again of seeing her face on a train as it goes by and how he wakes up in a cold sweat and his wife can't figure out what is going on .... and as she hears this she wants to reach out to him and to touch him but she pulls her hand back.
@ptlump "wake up in sobs" i think he said, but YES, absolutely, such a poignant moment, had me choking up a bit, its just devastatingly heart wrenching how they never were...linklater is a master of the human face&gesture and those intimate interactions that really are all that's special in life, imo anyway
I dont think we lost romanticism with time, We fool ourselves not to recognize we are still those love fools who get hurt by trusting and giving all of ourselves to others and when the other takes that with his/her prescence we still feel empty and sad, but we keep telling we dont believe in love anymore....but that means you could be dead inside and not feel anything...
I dont believe her, shes lying herself...and thats why she dies inside to touch him when he tell her about his dreams.
