  • Cameron Village was Raleigh's first suburban shopping center that opened on November 17, 1949 near Downtown Raleigh and N.C. State University. The movie theatre,Cameron Village Theatre opened on February 22, 1951,and closed in 1992. The Village Theatre became Raleigh's first suburban cinema.
