I am trying to keep this in mind every day. It still can be tempting to get the iPhone, but I am going to stick it out. I think eventually the Storm is going to be superior for business use.
ok the storm does have some catching up to do but it came out, well not too long ago. When the iphone came out there was tons and tons of problems. It took almost a year to make it work the way it should.
No wi-fi is that not big of a deal to me. Most people who are going to get the Blackberry will probably get unlimited data. I have never had a time when I could not connect and wifi is usually slower.
apps running on already outdated machine that cannot run enterprise apps. yeah, the apps are really geared for gamers and media, not much more. forget about any productivity suites for iphone (sorry but iphones are for kids).
well after the 2.0 update the 1st gen pretty much became the new iphone without the plastic casing. i dont think the video recording app is done yet. its in the works from what ive read. but i mean, how shaddy is it for apple to make it so that you to have to purchase your most basic features. ive played a lot of games from the app store and downloaded several other app and it is pretty amazing but as advanced as it is it still feels somewhat primitive.
It may lag in some aspects... but guess what... it GETS RECEPTION ANYWHERE. iPhone would have been mine on release day had it spent as much time on advertising as it did on building towers for reception. BB STORM is where its at for universal access like I need!
the touch screen is SLIGHTLY smaller. And you dont reeally need the wifi on the verizon network. speaking from someone whos been on just about every network verizons has definitly by far been the best. att NEEDS for the iphone to have wifi. Plus, the "3G" coverage that the iphone offers is such a lag. youre left with the EDGE network most of the time anyway. i dont know. i had a 1st gen iphone and it was great for a while.. but lagged in way too many basic features
have you found you've gotten used to the clicking screen? also is there any way (through options/advanced options) to switch from a clickable screen as opposed to a quicktap response screen? That would be a cool feature to actually have a choice... maybe in later models they will do that. This clickthrough is a very risky move for them.. RIM is being brave lol
thanks for the feedback. The Blackberry Storm is coming out on 11.21.08. The price will be $199.99 after a $50 mail in rebate and with a new 2 year contract.
BB Storm ftw!

yeah. I knew about the no wi-fi. In regards to the app store...I have heard that early 09 Blackberry is rolling out an app store of their own.

How are the other features of the phone? It comes out here on 11.21.08. Would you recommend over an iPhone?
