Hey that computer had 8 simm slots and they were all filled wih 256 k simm to make 2 megsof ram. I kow I had an IBM with 4 1 meg sims and I stole 4 256k simmsout of my schools computer so I had 5 megs of ram. My games played much better with the aded meg of ram
True, but CompUSA had them beat. I was in a store when they were closing down and by the time everything was 75% off they were approaching everybody else's regular price.
Indeed! Oh my gosh! Never seen something that foul. Definitely not enough for Windows 3.1. Truthfully, it wanted eight, not the popular four. The 85MB hard disk, too. More 386-era, case design too! I bet Packard Bell just shoved Cyrix 486 hybrids onto 386 motherboards and called them 486s in an attempt to get rid of dead inventory. 'course, if it came with the monitor, this'd still be a deal.
@Manimal347 That would not surprise me in the least if Packard Bell put Cyrix 486 hybrids in 386 motherboards. They were notorious for cutting corners - putting used computer components in supposedly new computers - to the extent they had a lawsuit filed against them. They weren't ranked as the absoulte worst PCs by PC World for nothing, you know. I also wonder if the processor (if it was an Intel) was lower than 25 MHz. I know there's a 20 MHz chip and supposdly a 16 MHz chip.
@Manimal347 My current computer has 4096 times the amount of RAM offered in this computer here. And for those who aren't tech-savy, a Gigabyte is 1024 megatbytes, not 1000 megabytes. (2^10 power).
Bose Speakers for $50? I'll take a couple.

Aside from the technology being shown, this commercial looks fairly modern.

Hmm.. I remember when my circuit city closed down like 3 years ago...

Circut City was nothing but hype that was always overpriced. Even in the end things there were expensive that were on sale for the store closing.

This is in 1994 eh?
2 MB RAM and 85 MB Hard Drive was EXTREMELY low end for the standards of that year.

I remember that plug at the end so well. It seems like just last week I was in Circuit City. I miss it.
