  • Ubuntu is for idiots. True linux is Slackware, Red Hat or Debian last

  • 240p, we meet again

  • Nice!

  • guys if this is what he likes then so be it don't insult it because its not something you would use

  • @SgtCraigHart1 i like your mother. don't even think about insulting me.

  • @mmamilano i am glad you like my mother :)

  • WINDOWS KING.

  • unity desktop has ruined ubuntu. now linux mint is number 1.

  • eh, Slackware based distros run better on my computer. I use Vector Linux.

  • the fastest os is linux based but now ubuntu

  • This is the graphical equilivant of those guys who chuck massive rear wings on the back of their fwd honda civics. face palm.

  • @22ness0hayden hahahahahaha, no shit i have a few, just custom themes though, the one i have on linux now is freakin awesome

  • How can you call Ubuntu the best and fastest OS when you have only showed compiz?? Try Slackware if you want to use Linux.

  • @Speedy6240 The kids of today only know about ubunut and maybe gentoo, some of us were using Slackware in the 90s :)

  • this is ubuntu before it started to suck ass!, I still use Ubuntu 9 and sometimes my Linux 8 on laptop.

  • thats ubuntu??? wtf did u dooo??

  • @poopz looks more like debian to me

  • Why do people put the uglies themes on their OS and claim it looks good.

  • i love linux but i really don't like ubuntu

  • @emewify wait what? That makes no sense at all...

  • @devisfern how does it not make sense... out of the hundreds of distributions of linux out there ubuntu is the one i cannot stand

  • You're title is bad....

  • Does it play skyrim on ultra? Because if not you might as well be showing us balls attached to your trailer hitch.

  • @jasonaf12522 I know it's not my video, but my Ubuntu box plays Skyrim on Ultra!

  • @Evilektr0nyka hey you deleted your comment! fuck i was looking forward to seeing you embarrass yourself further. any more violent threats you want to make, good sir?

  • @Evilektr0nyka "Comment removed" Nuff said.

  • @ReScaping lol sorry i had to join this argument. that guy seemed to hard to beat cuz he's willing to talk like a moron :P

  • @naveenc69 He seemed strange, I told him I had total apathy for what he was saying, and he carried on like he was winning. What a weird little boy. And that god awful techno he had on his channel, Jesus Christ. He's since deleted his account.

  • @ReScaping PFFFT AHAHAHAH wow whatta loser *sigh* it's strange what the 'privacy' of the internet can do to people

  • @naveenc69 Very strange indeed haha

  • @Evilektr0nyk From this I deduct you're either one of my friends or a chav. If you're a chav, cool story bro. If you're a friend, well played ;)

  • @ReScaping

Sam, I am neither one of your friends or from your same nationality.

Yet, I will compromise, since you have broken character. I engaged you with the user name Evilektr0nyka, but that is only a label. (If you solve this riddle, you will reveal my identity: The best way to protect me is to deny my existence. What am I?).

  • @Evilektr0nyk My face lit up when I saw one comment. I honestly find this hilarious. ;)

So first you're calling me a wimp, but you can't say who you are over the internet? haha ok man, it's best you keep protected. However seeing as you pointed out Bodlondeb woods, I know you are in fact the same nationality, because well, that's mighty specific of you ;) Why don't you just stop trolling and tell me your name xD

  • @ReScaping

I assure you that you and I have never met, and we are not of the same nationality. I have already so generously given you a riddle to reveal my identity (not as a who, but as a what). If you want my biological name, that is Vyacheslav Kruskoffvetta, but that is only the name of the biological being that I currently inhabit. You must solve the riddle to reveal my identity.

  • @Evilektr0nyk It's safe to say I'm bored and no longer care enough to want to guess, maybe I'm just tired, but at the moment, I can't be assed. I'll call you Chris Iwanicki and just leave it at that ;)

  • @Evilektr0nyk And dude what happened to your mediocre techno?

  • @ReScaping

I have all the data from the previous channel archived in a tar.gz file. I had to deactivate the previous account because someone set up a null root level access account underneath it, probably to pipe data through during idle time. It works like a stealth bot net.

  • @Evilektr0nyk Lovely. Well thanks for that :P

  • @Evilektr0nyk In fact you remind me of my friend Robin. Interesting.

  • @Evilektr0nyk And dude, if you know my name, instead of being a faggot and hiding behind the internet tell me yours, from what I gather it's somebody I know being a troll xD

  • @Evilektr0nyka i love how you're still talking even thought there's not reason for you to be here anymore. im actually more curious about how your two dads gave birth to you. tell us about yourself bro

  • @Evilektr0nyka And by the way, the songs you upload to your channel suck shit. You should stop that.

  • @Evilektr0nyka So you're a common troll trying to make me angry. Well that didn't work out for you did it? I read that entire paragraph with apathy, nice try though, but come back when you actually have something that isn't you repeating yourself.

  • @Evilektr0nyka You're quick to judge somebody you've never met, but seeing as you're a racist, sadistic human being, I can already see you obviously we're either mistreated as a child, or just never developed properly so you're taking your frustration out on others. I'm going to let you calm down, because if I let what you're saying get to me, you'll probably masturbate over it.

  • @Evilektr0nyka Amazing, you're setting the bar even lower for yourself. You're using aggression to cover up your own securities and your clear lack of control over your own emotions.

You think you're a tough guy? You don't even know what "tough" means, kid.

You think you're scary? You don't know of real nightmares. In no way shape or form would I ever lose to a sociophobic, as best pitiful character such as yourself.

Grow up before you post your reply, please.

  • No need to rage, by going back and forth with this retard you've effectively lowered yourself to his level. Chill and come back to the clouds already where this voice without reason can't even see you.

By the way, 100% agree with your first post: I can do 95% of what I do on a daily basis (including development) without a GUI. The exception is the browser, but Compiz sure makes using a terminal nicer :)

  • @Evilektr0nyka You were acting like an internet tough guy, I pointed it out, you started raging, that's not my problem. For somebody to wish death upon somebody is a whole new thing to me. Are you sure you can take being on the internet? Fish and chips? What a strange thing to say. Guess some people are just so fragile they can't take a joke. Oh well. Maybe it's time for you to go outside and grow a dick you pathetic boring piece of crap.

  • @ReScaping You really aren't helping your case here... you're -generally- criticizing someone without actually criticizing the -content- of their posts. Its moronic and irrelevant.

  • @kazetsukaimiko I made a joke. He raged. He obviously doesn't know what a meme is. He didn't have to reply in a hostile way, so really I've only done as bad as he has. He worded his first comment in a way I found funny. He couldn't take it and that doesn't make me a "Retard" which if I were you, I'd avoid using that word, that means he has a short fuse. That being said, you obviously don't know me enough to judge, and you're being bias because you think the same way he does.

  • @ReScaping Being able to relate with someone != bias. I personally think most GUIs are an overcomplicated mess that just gets in your way.

Your meme failed, and hard. It had no relevancy to the context whatsover. Its as if I responded to your post with: "Cookies! NOMILKpwntROFL"

You are correct though, I don't know you well enough to judge. You even use Linux by the way?

  • @kazetsukaimiko It was perfectly in context, he said something that made him sound elitist, I thought that was funny seeing as it was being elitist over such a trivial thing, kind of like saying "I like cookies, therefore I'm better".

Also, I dual boot Linux with the Developer Build of Windows 8 at the moment.

  • @Evilektr0nyka And then enters redundancy. Troll on little boy, it makes an African smile every time you do. ;)

  • @Evilektr0nyka Upon using the word "noob" it becomes blatantly obvious, you're a child or an over zealous teenager trying to impress people over the internet, well done sir.

  • @Evilektr0nyka Search facepalm, that is what I think of you.

  • @Evilektr0nyka < Internet tough guy, watch out people.

  • yeah sure a modifed windows is fast.....these windowses are crashing alot

  • That thing is an eyesore and you shouldn't be proud of it.

  • I Hate YOU 240P! I Love you soo Much 720P and 1080P ^-^

  • fastest and most stable is BSD. the only support it lacks at the moment is opencl with no plans of getting support without a cross-compile and running under linux abstraction. short of that, BSD is it...and yes, you can run compiz under BSD(I prefer FreeBSD for driver support).

  • dude, seriously? that is so outdated! WTF!

(Btw I run SuperOS Natty and NOT the regular Ubuntu,)

    YOUR A SCRIPT KIDDIE NOOB!

  • Ubuntu is neither the best nor fastest linux. And showing off compiz effects isn't a good showcase for those claims.

  • Ubuntu isnt the best os

I was going to use arch linux but because i need to do school work i didnt have time to set up arch linux and make my own gui and such so i decided instead it would be best if i just take the ubuntu cd i had laying around that i used on a family computer to install it so i can quickly set up my comp since it didnt have an os

    Ubuntu isnt the best os

The best os is the one you feel comfertable with

  • @HomeInventors I'm glad to see some wise words; I would totally agree that the best os is the one you feel comfortable with.

  • @HomeInventors I agree. Ubuntu is not the best. Whichever OS the user is most comfortable with is the best for them to use.

But when it comes to Linux distributions Ubuntu (and its close derivatives) is/are for sure one of the best when it comes to all around ease of use, support, and out of box hardware support. With 11.10 the only thing that hasn't worked out of box has been an obscure USB wifi card from china! lol!

  • I use Lubuntu,and fluxbuntu.

  • red and black, why did you have those silly colors ? If you like red, you can run Sabayon Linux, lol, bad for your Eyes i think! Best & Fast.... i keep on laughing... You think your System is great cause it runs Compiz ??? Damn. Ubuntu can do so much more you stupid Boy.

  • школота нашла рюшечки в линуксе ура, ура)

  • Mine is stripped down. compiz is turned off Isadora 9

  • Screw that, I edit my own private OS

    regards,

    THE_GHOST

  • i am a geek and i can tell you now that this is windows 7 with stuff added to it! I mean EVERYONE knows that ubuntu has the window buttons on the left like a mac does!

  • @jameswalker199 everyone knows that open-source OS like ubuntu can be completely customized and make whatever you want with them if you know how

  • @asvestomixZ Except that Ubuntu ain't the OS, it is a distribution of the Linux operating system. The Linux is the operating system used in Ubuntu.

  • @TheFri13 yes sorry i felt on the trap of rush

  • well i dont see why you judge so hard this guy, open source mean freedom.. If he wants fancy effects and glossy buttons it's up to him,

  • Who the hell needs acid when you got that monstrosity.

  • This is shameful. You are treating Lynux like a woman that's neglected to make you a sandwich. You bitch. Lynux is a man's most trusted development tool, not a fucking sandbox

  • Oh my godness! That's what I call real Linux-rape ..

  • I'm absolutely excited to see more and more Ubuntu Operating Systems being promoted. I personally would like to see an affordable alternative to the Operating System that has Virus and Spyware problems, Windows. The more Linux is promoted, the more people will try it and learn about it. There are great distributions of Linux available, however, these Distros need to have Application Standards if we ever want Linux to have Major Software Support, instead of dual booting Windows.

  • @davishowardr A generel layout standard for every application would be a great idea. Look at something like KDEnlive, Avidemux and others, completely different way of using the applications, you will need to learn it all again, when you want to use a new app, and it is not efficient. Most user friendly App is definitely OpenShot Editor. All apps should be like that (I mean that user friendly)

  • I wonder if this guy is still running Ubuntu or if he's booting his Windows partition more often these days?

  • @asininegenius Ubuntu is not that good in itself. I mean it is fast and all that, but quite ugly and not that user friendly. You have to tweak it, then you can get a very impressing system out of Ubuntu. I am lazy, so I use a system that has already been tweaked, Mint/Isadora - it's based on Ubuntu.

  • @MsPwain Try Slackware or FreeBSD. Tweaking and tinkering, as well as compiling, are a must, but you can't possible get any better of an OS than one you basically built yourself. Slowly, over time, is the way. You learn so much about the system, though. Distros like Ubuntu, etc, just become non-flexible pains in the ass. In the mean time, you have a rock solid system to work with.

I'm telling you, if you can get into either, there is no competition.

    I prefer FreeBSD, but Slack...yeah!

  • @asininegenius Which one is fastest distro, i'd try that one first

  • @MsPwain That's not really possible for me to answer, since I haven't used every distro. However, Slackware and a few distros build on top of Slackware really stand out to me. Salix OS is very lightweight, very fast, and it is very friendly since it comes with the slapt-get system, which handles installations and dependency checking (good news for newer users).

Salix is fully Slackware compatible, which means community support is very strong and answers are easy to find.

  • @asininegenius How are the apps, they are the same as on Ubuntu...?

If I wanted to use the terminal, can I use the same commands as Ubuntu?

  • @MsPwain Salix has limited GNOME support, so not all the same apps. However, you should find the some of same apps you are familiar with. As far as command line, I would assume they are pretty similar. Most Linux distros stick to the LSB.

Your best bet is going to be a VBox install just to give it a try.

If you are comfortable with Ubuntu, I see no reason for a switch. At the same time, though, there is always a chance you'll find something you like better. VBox is your best bet.

  • @MsPwain One thing worth mentioning, although, is that some of your hardware may not be supported. Slackware and it's derivatives are big on stability. Any packages included are tried and true. Not necessarily the newest available. This includes the kernel. You will not find the newest version, so your hardware may not be supported if it's new.

The biggest problem here is with WiFi. Your card may not work out of the box. Then again, it might. Look into it before making the jump.

  • Get at least Arch. Install using a text-based installer. Boot to this: "username: _". Actually understand what your computer is doing. Then come back and try to impress me.

  • Here, children, we have a typical Ubuntu user: one who loves flashy graphics, but doesn't understand why they happen.

Compiz or whatever you are using does not make a good OS. In fact, it has nothing to do with the OS except it runs on Linux in particular. It's just a program, like Xorg. Oh, but I bet you don't even know what that is, cause your distro came with it already installed, right?

  • @ElasticRaven

Although I would agree that he's a fuckin noob ass...please cut the elitist "I compile my own kernel/OS" shit...

It really shines kind of a bad light on the community from a new user perspective

  • @Captain93Morgan What gives bad echo and bad influence to whole community is the users who do not understand the technology what they are talking and because their ignorance new users do not get easily the truth of the technology what they are about to be use and they can not make best choices in the future because ignorant people have denied the technical truth from them in the first place, in the sake of the marketing.

  • @ElasticRaven its a good beginners linux OS.. its how i learned.. i use ubuntu for my main daily use laptop and arch linux on my work station.. and ubuntu server edition or arch linux without a gui as my servers

  • @ElasticRaven Is that so bad? I run Arch, but new users = new use cases = new development on Linux.

Compositing actually helped Linux in general with popularity quite a bit over the last eight years. We (Linux users) had flashy desktop graphics and real productivity boosting effects/features well before Windows, and OSX had taken a minimal approach.

  • where to get this theme?

  • GIMMEE THE SPEC! SSD? whats the secret? apart from ubuntu and some video editing.

  • How?????

  • @winmac2565 Ubuntu Linux.

  • i9 bet tinycore is faster lol

  • as my experience its too fast

  • @rahmy01 does it take long to boot up?
