if facebook was a pay service i would understand the the anger towards facebook. but last i checked facebook was a free service. if you don't like it, simply don't use it. there are other options out there.

if you request your Facebook profile to be deleted via the approriate link and not the De-Activation. Everything to do with you is completely removed.

actually we sortof did vote on it. when people dont like things on facebook there is a massive member outcry (take the beacon program for example which was cancelled due to user dissatisfaction), and in the spirit of democracy the facebook administration acts according to what the users want from their social networking experience

Facebook is Mark Zuckerberg's property. He allows a user to use it under HIS terms. You were aware of his terms when you signed up. If you don't agree with his terms, he allows you to leave. I don't believe too many dictators have allowed the public the choice of living under their rule or leaving.
