This is supposed to be a dancer style sari. They have not mentioned here that this is the traditional Sri Lankan sari or the osari,so please stop arguing without getting our facts correct. But quite interestingly I find that there is a similarity between this drape & the osari. So,may be this was worn long time back, but not worn today (and also may be not all over the country). Remember guys, there is a long history of wearing sarees. And this might be an interesting topic for a research :)
Please, this is *not* supposed to be a modern Sri Lankan woman's drape! It's a documented traditional dancer's style, noted in a well-researched sources as being (yes, you're right about this bit), "very different from the uusual Ceylonese sari." Don't be so quick to claim this video was done by people who don't know what they are doing. Several commenters below are just mistaken about what this demonstration is showing. It is but one of many drapes previously worn in Ceylon/Sri Lanka.
@R4J4N noo i think you got it wrong!!!....it's more like YOU have the looser mentality!! :)....it's tamils like you who create these dramas on youtube! so STFU ...thank you :)
after all many years ago your forefathers as a convicts and unwanted and outcaste were sent on boad to get lost and landed in sri-lanka as Prince Vijaya...
@R4J4N first of all i'm not even sinhalese!! i'm tamil!!! ok....soo i dunno what your talking about..... your the one who started this drama by bringing in the whole SINHALESE looser mentality....i don't see any comment from any sinhalese in this video that talked badly about tamils......sooo clearly your the one who is starting the drama.....
As your pseudo name stand for it is very obvious who you are. And you are the one who is worried about the Sinhala faces. Check your DNA make up ... it might reveal few things.
@R4J4N ok clearly your a weirdo and take my advise and go see a doctor!!! :) i'm going to just ignore your comment and stop replying after this...cause i have a life unlike you :D
I agree with Oshane..I am almost 50 years old and have NEVER seen a sari worn here in Sri Lanka by anyone like this. This woman knows nothing about the draping of a Sri Lankan Sari..or Osariya. What a Cheat ! Our Sari is elegant and so neat..this looks like a garbage bag tied up in a knot and all !

Yeah the sinhalese have a looser mentality... every where they would be doing this winging drama.
She is only showing the method, how to..
To be elegant one need to wear it by them self...of course it has to be mastered

It is a 'Ceylonese Dancer style' not 'Sri-lankan style' therefore there is an era of diffrence...!?
wearing saries style has changed ... it get evolved into modern.

Most hilarious style of draping ever..... this draping in no way what so ever minutely even resemble the traditional "Osari" of Sri Lanka
