Outstanding performance! Mick Taylor still has it, the touch, the tone, the feel, the same improvisational brilliance that characterized the legendary live work with the Stones between 1969-1973. A towering genius of the blues, the flame still burns! Rock on MT!
Mick Taylor absolutely "owns" this song. He has done so since he started playing it with the Stones Mach II in 1969. He can claim similar status with respect to the live version of "Gimme Shelter" (witness the London version on the live bootleg "Lost Brussels Definitive" 1973 Tour) . A beautiful player, particularly when he had a groove going with Keith Richards on rhythm guitar.
@marrrkeeee There are some other cuts of this song on this site as done by MT when he was with the Stones in the early 70's. There had been more, but I guess they have been taken down for DRM problems. For me, they are the highest form of Mick Taylor's art. An example is the track from unreleased Decca live album 1972, done in Philly, I believe.
@rchmendoza +Thanks , i'll keep lookin. Saw a recent clip of him on this and he 's lousy. Maybe a bad night. Real bad. Y'know when he got clean after the Stones?
