YOu idiot...We didnt win the fucking war. It really isnt even a war. How would we have won? We needed to capture those so called weapons of saddam and we didnt. That was our mission and we failed. it means we lost.
Remember when USA was invading Iraq and AlJazeera kept airing sadams public relations guy saying Iraq was defeating USA LMAO?! US TV stations were airing it, and laughing at it.
That was some good reporting. Not a whole lot of bias, simply letting the local players say what they want in their own words. Got to give credit where credit is due.
Sober up, folks. Bush has committed CAPITAL CRIMES in Iraq. Read US CODES, TITLE 18, SECTION 2441. Bush should stand trial and, if found guilty of the charges, the verdict should be carried out.
I think one big worry for the US now is the strong possibility that pulling out will allow Iran to fill the void, also that it signals defeat. Thats something the administration don't want to admit. Then there is the oil issue which was meant to pay for the rebuilding (perhaps the war too)?
This report would make a spectacular comprehensive feature length documentary. A big problem is very few people in the world understand the depth and complexity of the situation. It seems like people are too busy supporting far left or far right opinions which they base on too little knowledge and too much paranoia.
Absolutely. Of course, one way to understand a people is to simply ask them - which the Western media for the most part won't do. Every once in a while an independent report comes out where they do exactly that - and the answers speak volumes.
agreed, the best way to help iraqis is to actually listen to what they desire and provide for it. not to treat them as children who cannot get their act together without the US. if you ask me, iraq has had enough US help; from their support of saddam to their ongoing destruction of the nation and its people.
Well, the US has some pretty significant problems - imagine how indignant those folks in the US would get if someone presumed to "help" them with their issues without asking. At the end of the day it's simply cultural arrogance and nothing more.
There really is no easy option, I supported the war but sometimes I do feel we should just pullout because of all the violence, but as the the Iraqi guy said they need the American albeit the coalition to act as a safe guard. This is all due to the terrorists desire for casuing death and destruction.
why would someone working with the US forces be making an argument for the US to stay? lets think about that one for a little bit, it might be more complicated than "terrorists are bad". western terrorism and war aggression only increases terrorism and spreads hatred throughout the region. why did he say that people may attack? it is because of the US presence in the region. this is the main reason, and it always will be.
the main reason that the people fear reprisals are because the US forces are in al-anbar. this gives them a choice, continue to fight occupation troops or possibly face reprisals that come with making peace with the brutal war aggressor and terrorist state. either way, they are subjected to violence because of the realities that the occupation has created.
as the western forces, and their brutal and illegal act of imperialism are the cause of hatred and resentment among sects in iraq. before the act of war aggression, there was never levels of violence to this scale among sects in the entire region.
the occupation has divided the iraqi people in a desperate bid for survival as civilians were forced to arm themselves to provide security that the US is incapable, and probably does not care about providing.
when the war started the US blatantly persecuted sunnis and supported shia, now the oppossite is happening while the US has decided to criticizing iran for trying to play a role in the region and oppossing US INTERESTS! all these people see is violence and suffering on a daily basis because of this greedy war, it is only a matter of time before desperation sits in. then western people can sit in their comfy homes and smugly comment about how repulsive the people are; it makes me sick.
You have your views and I have mine. Let me say though, yes, it is as simple as terrorists are bad although I didn't put it like that, you've resorted to childish remarks to put your point across.
"but as the the Iraqi guy said they need the American albeit the coalition to act as a safe guard. This is all due to the terrorists desire for casuing death and destruction." ; basically all this says is that your willing to ignore everyting contributing to the situation in iraq, besides the fact that "terrorists" are bad. if you want to bury your head in the sand, it only going to further ignorance.
I simply don't want to get into a debate. Nothing in my first post suggested that I wanted to fight my point, you've posted loads of replies that frankly I believe are wrong but your views aren't going to change mine and mine aren't going to change yours, let's leave it here.

Why do the people the US military (local) are training all look wealthier, and much better fed, than the official Iraq military in the video?
