Philsk8salot, your right! Although AMC did use 727 trannys that Chrysler made, along with some other components from other manufactures, the motors were pure AMC. When AMC made the Rebels in 67, some people nowdays mistake them for 68-69 Dodge Coronets, however the Rebel came before the Coronet. I think Dodge copied the design because it was a nice looking vehicle. Look up the results of the 1997 Silver State Challenge, AMC looked good at that race.

vinylcollector08 you must be retarded or you just know nothing about cars or else you would now that AMC is not a mopar it is strictly AMC. Don't give out false info to people especially when you don't know what your talking about
I love that announcers comments at the end. Wonder what the guy in that SRT4 was thinking as soon as that AMX launched off the starting line? Serious pucker factor!
@2taxedout If i was driving the SRT-4, The pucker factor would have started in staging when I unfortunately got lined up next to a tubbed car that thumps..
To each his own on the "turd" comment...it's still a light car with a big engine to which I am partial. My amx ('69 390cu/in, but actually about a 396 after machine work when I broke a piston) has about 575 hp naturally aspirated.
@vinylcollector08 Chrysler is more AMC they'd like to admit. Examples: The '66 Dodge Charger a copy of the AMC Marlin which came out a year earlier. The wild colors Chrysler had in the '70s, copy of AMXs' 'Big Bad' colors. Early AMC Rebel & Dodge Monaco have similar rooflines. Granted, AMC raided the Chrysler parts bin as well, using their wheels, copying their bare bones dashboards in the late '60s & using their automatic transmission. Still, when it came to engines, each brand had their own.
Woooooohoooooooo!!! :-)

That Dodge would have done better if they didn't make it look like some rice rocket piece of shit.

How do you figure? If you polish a turd to make it shine, it's still a fucking turd.
