  • 6 dislikes...... Chevy guys ;)

Cool I'll go with these guys! ;)

  • "a 6 that moves like an 8"

    HA

  • Was that line about being 4 inches longer an effort to gain the attention of the female buyer?

  • Best cars ever made.

  • Agent 99?

  • 0:30 austin powers?

  • dam that 428 sounded good!

  • mmm ... Wonder what the women in the above commercials look like today ? haha

  • at 2:32 i had to go get popcorn and use the restroom and come back did I miss anything?

  • i cant wait for buying one!

  • Only a Mustang tops a Mustang.

  • That only thing that sucks is that you cant see the colors.

  • This is a movie not a comercial :p

  • ohhhhhhhhhhhh saw this on tv last night

  • ha 4 dislikes... chevy guys ;)

  • the past seems so bad ass

  • @Bronson9100 if it takes acting like these goof balls singing like panzies to be call bad ass............................

  • performance striping adds horse power of course

  • How did they get those camera angles when it was flying down the road?

Computers weren't used like that then... Hmm?

  • @RagnarokGears your a fucking idiot lol what do computers have to do with getting simple shots of a car flying by?

  • See Ford says it's ok to have a fling. I'm going to show my girlfriend that drives a Ford this commercial, then she will have to be cool with it. :)

  • Man commercials back in the 60's felt like they were 5 minutes long!

  • A new 250.c.i. V6 that goes like an 8! On v6 economy! Didnt I just see this on tv yesterday? Things never change do they.

  • @GT4viper dude they didnt have v6 back than, they were all straight, in-line 6s

  • From an era when cars could go like hell, but stopping them was always exciting too, in a not-so-good way! My '71 Torino-GT was rated at 0-60 in 6.0 seconds, but the four drum brakes were damned scary every time I stepped on the brake!!! I never knew how much fade there was going to be or which way it was going to swerve!

  • I am 15 and this makes me want one :D

Mind me I am huge Ford fan :D

  • @C0LM4N same here brotha lol

  • Why aren't car ads like this any more? they are too sterile (apart from the new Mustang), Gotta love the 6.5'' cross ply tyres, drums on the rear, rolly poly suspension and a HELL OF ALOT OF POWER!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • the first 55sec wer LAME! then its like Mad Max

  • the three disslikes are camaro fans.....

  • hard to believe that the world was ever the way it was in the late 60's!

  • Had i started saving money to buy this car when this commercial started....I probably would've had enough to buy it when it ended. :)

  • I love it. Why doesn't Ford do a commercial like this? In color of course, but lengthy with corny songs for the intro, it would be awesome!

  • I always laughed when this old guy would drive his cobra jet to our shop to complain about silly things like boiling gas in the carb lmfao (He is the original owner) and the damn car still goes like a molested primate!

  • man thats weird at 3:06 when he gives it gas it sounds just like the v8 mustangs do today

  • Good thing they have that Mach One going flat out on a very long straight. These cars don't handle too well in the turns at speed!

  • The 428 has piston sleeves the size of coffee cans. No replacement for displacement, and no school like the old school. I love embarrassing the rice burners at the stop lights.

  • @cobrajetter I like "no replacement for displacement and no school like the old school." Here's to that!

  • 3 peoples drive AMC Gremin's =)

  • Comment removed

  • "longer by almost 4 inches" that's what she said. no, but seriously mustangs are the shit

  • 25,000 stangs sold in mid 64 thats a great sales record for only half a year and a brand new car

  • @Birdgame2k10 25,000???? They sold 100,000 in the first 3 months, and 318,000 in during the '64 1/2 model year.

  • Wasn't the cobra jet a disappointment to mustang fans? I'm not really sure but it's what i heard.

  • @sunnymuffins13208 not really just a big block with an upgraded intake for a little more power

  • @sunnymuffins13208 no, the horsepower for the cobra jet was rated at 335, which sounded like a dissapointment but the people who actually bought the 428CJ found that ford lied about the true horsepower number. the actual horsepower number was somewhere over 400

  • God, were we as Americans ever really that happy?? That intro song!

  • R-code '69 Mach-1 "Drag-Pak" resto-mod owner, BABY!

  • must beautiful car over the world !!!

  • Only Mustang tops Mustang ! O yea baby

  • @CNetherny 74?

  • And i though that commercials were long today.

  • ....And a set of tires that would "boil" under any amount of throttle!

  • @zobcity01 Yeah that's why Mustangs were a serious sales flop. Ford only sold 25,000 of them on the first day.

  • @straightedge442 For years, my enjoyment of seeing how long it took to "make the threads jump out" of hiding under all that rubber was soo much fun! I kinda wondered why the salesman at Bob's tire shop smiled and waved at me like he knew I'd be back next week......

    Those were the days.

  • "Not about to change its ways" ...not 'til '74 at least.

  • these were the days... now everyone drives an economu 4 cylinder shit box.

  • @supra6t9 Yeah, muscle cars were a fad, but the coolest fad ever imaginable.

  • Longer by almost 4 inches

  • Comment removed

  • 2:45 - 2:53 i think was all the commercial needed to get people to buy it

  • Wow. Exceptionally poor production values, in the making of this presentation. Were the dancers allowed to rehearse?

I can easily imagine that a generation of Directors of Photography learned quite a bit about their craft from and after witnessing the blunderous mistakes in the filming of the Mustang in motion.

This spot never aired on TV, right? This lengthy commercial was a rushed production meant to be viewed only by Ford salesmen?

  • @neatoauctions You know, anyone looking to critique a commercial from this era with the eye of a cynic with regard to less than precision point synchronization of dance choreography, shot-angles, etc. CLEARLY misses the point. If what you need is the sterility of low-end thump pumping out of 5.1 sound and razor sharp editing bereft of any soul, there are plenty of contemporary ads to direct your pseudo-elitist scrutiny towards.

  • To vampyros1;

Your attempt at creative writing is wholly laughable. The "point" of any advertisement is to create a demand for a product. If a pitch is skewed to the point of distraction -- pushing attention from the merchandise "torward[s]" dismal production execution-- then such an attempt at marketing will undermine the effectiveness of the campaign.

  • @neatoauctions Requiring an ad from 41 years ago to "create a demand" for yourself (today) is ludicrous. It was a different era, and the litmus was, so too, different. These ads were created to serve as a springboard for viewers to launch their own 'spec search'. Only a moron would hang their buying impulses on choreographed dance steps and camera angles. They're >teasers<; if you need unadulterated reality, then go take a test drive. Btw, "torward/s" isn't a word, you idiot.

  • To vampyros1,

You again. "Only a moron would hang their buying impulses on choreographed dance steps." So your message here is the view that Ford believes their potential customers are moronic simps, easily persuaded by undulating youth, involved in ungainly wriggling? That seems to be the case; so you've taken one step closer to a distant, logical perception. "Btw,"torward/s" isn't a word" Then why did you use it? "Towards" is a word, used primarily in GB. While in the US, "toward"is preferred

  • they probably should bring this commercial back, just updated for the 2011...

  • Ford, stand for First On Race Day !!!

  • 4:52...A car that actually STOPS at a stop sign!

    Ahhh, those were the days

  • That car is totally badass

  • Out of the box the 428 CJ Mustang was probably the quickest regular production option you could buy.

  • Is that Austin Powers?

  • They new it - At the end they even said it. Yet, they were Bunkie Kundsen and a year away from trashing the classic lines. I do believe he was a plant.

  • well i like these commercials better than those retard ones that the american idol contestants make!

  • Oh man! Just look at that Incredible Quivering Exposed Cold Air Grabber!

  • Awesome old time commercial. Smacks of life's simpler times. Love the Mach 1 have a 1972 myself, but I sure would love a 69!

  • @hillbillyboy1993 Hey, did the windsor come from the 351? er did the 351 come from the windsor? (whatever point you were trying to make there ! ) some folks say 289,302 &351 W are all the same head design... otherwise known as the Ford "snorkel port" around here ...whenever we get bored enough to talk about junk purely for comic relief.

  • @hillbillyboy1993 I dont doubt you one bit, Cletus, its probably your Camaro too. & it hasnt had the oil changed in 5 years but lots added as it burns it like crazy & it looks like a lightening storm when you open the hood in the dark from the all the shorts in the cracked plug wires. The neighbor girl also out ran it with her bicycle but you were nt so eager to mention that either, were ya? BTW "Visioned" is a word only in hillbillyville.

  • my dad has one of these :)

  • Man this brings back so many memories.

  • Mustang is the BEST Car ever built on this damn universe!!!!!!! They're all heck a tight. No I don't have stock.

  • @CNetherny Accept the ugly ones of the 80's

  • Acid anyone?

  • Too bad they couldn't get the mach 1 to go mach 1.

    :P

  • @AgentGTO THAT would be funny! I doubt the windshield would hold up at that speed!

  • POKE through air cleaner baby

  • @ 1:58...Longer by almost 4" hehehe

  • so sexy and badass lady :)

  • "Performance striping"

  • @mads1975

    yea I know! i was

    'owh yeaa!' lol lol lol

  • @mads1975 lol

  • Ford Mustang is my favorite car ever, but these commercials were the definition of cheesy lol.

  • Theyr'e back....:) Dearborn is awake!! And I CAN"T WAIT!!

  • nothing sounds sweeter than a 5.0 'Stang. not even my 5.7L Chevy, but I love it anyway.

  • @MacDaddySupreme69 I think nothing sounds better than a 289 hi-po

  • @MacDaddySupreme69 you like the sound of a 302 breathing through those screwed up windsor exhaust ports better than the sound of a 350 chevy motor?

    you are sick !

  • nice

  • hottest in mustang class... what about the Boss 429?

  • @liquidmetal121 it would take some work to wake up a Boss 429 because they choked them at the factory on purpose, flat on the bottom end, but once that thing was wound up it went insane. better have some good rubber on the back !

  • pearclips u suck. thats the greatest fastest car ever made and would kick the shit outta mopars and chevys so screw u

  • pearclips you're a faggot. that's exactly what all muscles cars were about, big engines with sheet metal wrapped around them.

  • Music is pain in the ass.

  • They are driving through Glamis :D

  • they pulled into oatman AZ at the end of the video lol

yah ford had the pony car first but the 289 was never a match for SBC power. so ford jammed the FE boat anchor bigblocks in them. made the mustang nose heavy & bad handling.

  • @pearclips What about the 351?

  • @mercmarc what about the 351 ?

  • SO...SO COOL!

  • These people are either dead or dying by now which is sad if you think about it

  • @buttnut1080

Hey! I was around in 1969. I bought a 69 Dodge Charger new. I am not dead or dying. I am in the process of restoring a 69 Mach 1 now and I'm gonna drive the wheels off it!

  • Hey one is still alive!!

  • @buttnut1080 This is only from '69. That would put those singers in their 60's, not exactly dieing from old age.

  • This is about 50 billion times better than some jerk off in a monotone voice talking about how some car gets 1 more mpg than its competitor.

  • what is the name from the musica group in this commercial??????

  • I can't believe commercials like this cut the mustard back then.

  • I like it, they cut the bullshit. No fast camera shot changes or cgi. Just show me the damn features.

  • Krikey! I see Mike Myers at 30 seconds!

  • 1970 trans am kicks fords ASSSSSSSSS

  • @therandomguys10001 yah right up to the point when the pontiac motor blows a rod!

  • 2:22

  • grrooovy

  • Ford is the way you swing:)

  • @iwantmustangcom

    What's that you say?

It's the going thing. ba ba ba ba ba

  • I think the Grande model was a bad idea. Who would want a car that looks sporty on the outside and like grandma's car from the inside? So I say; either build a sedan, or build a hot rod. Don't try mixing it up like that. It looks like shit. The Mach1 is really something!

  • I'm guessing the Grande was trying to replace the 2 door T-Birds. However poorley executed.

  • I'll bet you wish you had that 428-V4 Cobra Jet Mustang Mach1!

  • Wow! not a Ford guy (British car guy) but this was a good commercial

  • Color this won hot!! Screw Obama and global warming, Sign me up for one of these....

  • Oh but don't you know? The birds in the air and the fish in the sea will all die if you drive a Mustang. So you have to drive a hybrid clown car.

  • pa pa pa paaaa xD

  • bad ass those are the Glamis sand dunes

  • I can get honest tears thinking about the rusted out field Mach 1's,cobra jets, even a shelby gt500kr convertible i've seen in my life. . . such a shame here in Washington...

  • hey cash2112, thats a beuatiful story

  • A friend in H.S. had a Jade Green '69 Mach 1, 428 SCJ, 4-Speed Toploader, 3.91 Detroit Locker, Shaker, Slats and Magnum 500's. Hedman headers w/ Cherry Bombs bolted to the collectors was the exhaust system. Sideways at any speed. He restored it, still has it and its worth close to $100K today. He'll probably be buried in it.

  • I had a 69 Mach 1 oh the cherrys that got busted in that car

  • Not to mention they will win you more pink slips than your ford can contain

  • actually the govt...stifled ALL performance cars by 73...show me a fast dodge or chev...after that!

Oh...sorry...they did introduce the Vega and K car?

Everyone...all consumers got hit by the crap!

  • That's right, Ford HAD a better idea. For some reason they ran out of them by '73.

  • Y'know, 40 years of technology hasn't made the new Mustangs better than the good old '69 Mach 1. The new little 4.6 is not a 428 Cobra Jet / Toploader equivelant. If only we could buy this car new today.

  • yep Ive got a 69 mach 1 fastback in orange with a windsor 4 speed. Im building a 440 windsor dart small block, Its gonna be radical 550hp and 620 ft/lbs of torque.

  • Comment removed

  • Whoa, it's the Hullabaloo show in a Ford dealer showroom! I love it. What a great commercial.

  • I had one of them, a '69 428CJ with Lime Gold paint. Been gone but I still remember the s/n 9F02R149xxx

  • ive got 1 but in indian fire red ha

  • This was when cars had personality

  • The true cowboys sport's car, I love it. It still suits me just fine.

  • a southener cowboys sports car is a pickup lol

  • back when we used to actually make cars.

  • Great commercial. I bet those chicks are old hags by now!

  • Good God what a corny commercial

  • yea,,,,,, life was corny,, in the 60 and 70

  • well i think John Deer has a better tractor than FORD, shit is that you daddy on the Ford Tractor calling your name, maybe tonight you you and your daddy on the tractor can cut the corn, wink, wink,

  • The Mustang is the only pony car that survived all these years:

Camaro shut down for almost ten years

Firebird has been gone for a while

Challenger is just coming back as well since being gone for almost 30 years

AMC Javelina has been gone since the company went out of buisness

Pretty much, it is the king of the pony car war

  • Firebird is gone for good, because Pontiac is.

  • @mustangfan41 the javelin ended in 74, around the same time the mustang became a Pinto. AMC was bought out in 1987. The challenger bowed out in 73 and returned (as did the charger) as an economy sports car in the late 70's-80's. the camaro ended in 2002 and returned in 2010, 8 years gone. The mustang outsold its competitors most of the time, but rarely out performed them. My 93 Z28 was rated at 275hp. It took mustang until 2005, discounting "special editions", to meet or exceed that rating.

  • best...type...of...car....EVER!!!

  • ok...maybe..just [maybe] the camaro is faster....but this car is soooooooooo much better looking .....but you can thank ford for the camaro..wanna no why?..becuase the mustang came out 3 years earlier and chevy was like..oh shit..we dont have a car to compete with that ..so walla ,,the camaro comes out

just like the bronco came out before blazer ..and the ranchero before the el comino ..i guess chevy cant break new ground like ford did ...and ford made v8's 23 years before chevy

  • Comment removed

  • You "heard all about it from a Camaro loving daddy. The TRUTH was that the BIG block Mustangs were faster in 69 and 70...but then chevy fans always had problems with facts. The Boss 429 stangs advertised 435 HP and factually put out 490 but were advertised with less so Insurance companies would still insure them. They ATE Camaros.

  • This "exclusively for Ford" song can be heard in both NA and AUS.

  • Thank you for posting this rare video!

  • I shoulda said the guy sitting on the floor.

  • Is that Austin Powers singing in the front row?????

  • lol, yes!

  • To hell with the car I'll have the one with the white ribbon in her hair.
