The European versions of sport bikes usually have a faster top speed. U.S. 954 's top out at about 171 but there is a video from europe showing one hit 186mph (300km).

No, you are not correct. My point is, it's not about the bike. It's about the rider. I've seen professionals on a Ninja 250, lap the guys on bigger bikes. Yes, the bigger bikes can out accelerate the smaller ones, but the larger the frame, the less handling you get. The curvier the track, the more likely it is that a smaller bike will out handle a bigger bike. ESPECIALLY a Busa. My track time is here & there, but my time is spent in the canyons where a Busa can simply never keep up.

Ok Metallicafn, Im gona forgive you cause your 21 and from the USA. This video was made ten years ago in 1999. It was made by RPM videos in connection with fast bike magazine. The R1 was the 1998 model could for prob a real 175, the busa then was pre limiter and tested to low 190mph bracket. Back then in Europe during this time the speedos were very optimistic, i remember the magazines put 210mph on the blackbird and the busa would show 215mph plus. Thats why you could get 190 on the R1 clocks

The Busa is NOT a sport touring bike. The Busa is a drag bike. In a straight line, it will beat any liter bike (stock). In the twisties, the R1 would leave it in the dust after a couple of turns.
Just a note here, the vid is indicating 190, as he lets off the gas. So id say roughly the r1 was going 175 before the busa passed, regardless i got a r1, and busa's are fast as fuck.
if thats a stock r1 then i doubt if it was going 190mph,more like 175-180 and the limit to sports bikes is 186mph.Nice vid tho.Nuff respect to busa`s.

@rctheil you apparently have not race on the track or even watch people on a race track , am I correct to say that. Because there are people out there with heavy bikes keeping up or beating the lighter bikes. I guaranty you no average rider can beat a proffesional on a busa.. I'll bet my money on it. I'm talking about a 20 lap race, he might even lap the average rider on his light bike. yes I'm saying the busa is not just straight lines. go out to the race track, texas speedway

No, you are not correct. My point is, it's not about the bike. It's about the rider. I've seen professionals on a Ninja 250, lap the guys on bigger bikes. Yes, the bigger bikes can out accelerate the smaller ones, but the larger the frame, the less handling you get. The curvier the track, the more likely it is that a smaller bike will out handle a bigger bike. ESPECIALLY a Busa. My track time is here & there, but my time is spent in the canyons where a Busa can simply never keep up.

Ok Metallicafn, Im gona forgive you cause your 21 and from the USA. This video was made ten years ago in 1999. It was made by RPM videos in connection with fast bike magazine. The R1 was the 1998 model could for prob a real 175, the busa then was pre limiter and tested to low 190mph bracket. Back then in Europe during this time the speedos were very optimistic, i remember the magazines put 210mph on the blackbird and the busa would show 215mph plus. Thats why you could get 190 on the R1 clocks

The Busa is NOT a sport touring bike. The Busa is a drag bike. In a straight line, it will beat any liter bike (stock). In the twisties, the R1 would leave it in the dust after a couple of turns.

Just a note here, the vid is indicating 190, as he lets off the gas. So id say roughly the r1 was going 175 before the busa passed, regardless i got a r1, and busa's are fast as fuck.

if thats a stock r1 then i doubt if it was going 190mph,more like 175-180 and the limit to sports bikes is 186mph.Nice vid tho.Nuff respect to busa`s.
