I am loving my ribz! have taken it on several hikes now and only have one complaint.....the front zipper working itself unzipped....I am in the process of doing some modifications to fix it. Overall, I love it!
Seems like the weight distribution will be by definition all wrong. When hiking, especially going on inclines, the spine is less strained the straighter you stand... but this system will put weight on the forward part of the body and near the belly (as if you are pregnant).
I disagree. This pack is expected to be used in conjunction with a rucksack. When you wear a rucksack you lean forward to counter balance the weight. By adding the RIBZ I found that I stood more upright and put less strain on my hips. I haven't used it yet for a really long hike but will be soon. Then I can give you a better report.
Hiya Sean, this looks like a brilliant bit of kit for people who like I, find it frustrating to have to keep accessing the rucksack. I tend to live in cargo pants and there's only so much room in those for essentials so this would solve the issue plus it balances out the load better. Nice and thanks for sharing. {~_~}
I got the RIBZ as well, excellent product, wouldn't recommend filling it to the brim with heavy gear though as I dont personally trust the fabric or stitching to take that kind of load.
For anyone that uses a backpack with a hydration system I'd strongly recommend this as the pack can get heavy as he** with a full bladder and gear, this balances the weigth nicely.
@seanmulhall cool i look forward seeing it hey sean what do say about making a Gathering in uk this summer and invite dave like a pathfinder gathering? just a thought
Reminds me of a Brit Army chest rig

Looks like a suicide bombers vest. I wouldn't wear it into an airport.

how does it compare with regular military style webbing?

I like it. I am remaking part 2 which will be out in a hike with the RIBZ. Last time I didn't record the main part of the hike and review in error.
