At the top level, I hear that running all-out on a 100m bend gives you a time 0.15s slower than if you'd have ran the same performance on a straight. Therefore with a 1st 100m time here of 10.12 for Johnson, he'd have gone sub-10 in the 100 for the first time. Astonishing - raising his head at the start is inefficient (his last 100 with a running start was 9.20, by the way).
only time will tell , remember they said tom petranoff would never throw over 75 metersin the javelin in 1983 he threw the jav 99.72 meters or 327 feet 2 inchesfor a new worlds record , nothing is impossible , the impossible just takes more time
Freakishly fast...my favourite sprinter. Such an odd build, with a long, powerful upper body and short fast legs. The way he leans back seems strange as well.
I met xavier carter this weekend at lsu when i was personally at a meet. Xavier Carter is the biggest and strongest 200 meter runner i have ever seen. He is also very friendly and cool when i asked him for an autograph. He is the man for those of you who don't know him you will soon.
Xavier Carter did decide to go pro. The only reason he thought about staying in college was because of football. But 9 catches in 2 years at LSU made it an easy choice for him to leave. Keep in mind the kids only 20 and he has a good shot at MJs record. I think by the time the olympics come around that record will be beat. Wariner is gonna break MJs 400 record too
Well Baylor did lose their Olympic caliber athletes and Carter doesn't want to go pro early opting to finish his collegiate education. So of course him and Gray would annihilate, their on a different level.
I posted four tenths(.4) of a second. Meaning, that no one aside from Frankie Fredricks on Namibia who was in that race has come within that four tenths (.4) of a second margin. I believe the closest has been Shwn Crawford at 19.72

jeremy wariner will be the next wr record setter in the 200 meter and 400meter, go USA
bobmsr 5 years ago
Maybe he'll beat the current 400m WR because Wariner has alreadi ran kinda close. As for the 200m... i don't think Wariner will come even close.

Five fastest times on record
19.32 - MJ
19.63 - Xavier Carter
19.65 - Wallace Spearmon (a year older than Carter!)
19.66 - MJ
19.68 - Frank Fredericks, Tyson Gay

Xavier Carter will win some golds at the 2008 games. So will Wariner. Neither of them will come close to Johnson's records.
sfhguibnbhq 5 years ago
I think Wariner will. Come back in 18 months and we'll see who's right.
