  • celebrating with young girls and a tip to boot so that's not bad ! Glad you made some good cash ! and then came the boys... and really sounds like assholes... again great fun to see you meet the other guy from Lebanon. always amazed at what people try to pass on to you guys...

  • Just last night me and another driver were sitting in a parking lot talking about the general public, and how there are people who wouldn't dare think of ripping you off, and always paying their way, and how there are other people who do nothing but think and try different ways to get the most out of you for nothing! I only wanted to wipe the pavement with one of those boys LOL The other four were well-behaved considering that they were drinking. The girls? I wanted to swat the one behind me :)

  • Happy New Year! :)))

  • LOL Likewise :)

  • Dealing with the public can be real un-perty at times... BUT... the pleasurable, fluffy people make it all worthwhile sometimes. Did I ever tell you what happened to our friend (my stepdad's coworker)? Someone ordered a cab in an area that is known by locals here as 'the hood'. He arrived at the destination, picked up the customers, got shot in the head and stuffed in his trunk. Judt because. He made it out alive. Barely, but he did. Makes my Mum worry about her hubby every day.

  • The pleasant people DO make up for the unpleasant people for sure... It's just that at this dark time of year there are fewer pleasant people! I definitely prefer working in the warmer months...

You know, if I was to think about such isolated instances I'd just lock myself in my room and never come out... If shit happens it happens. If someone shoots me dead I only hope to go quick and without any pain.

Did I ever tell you about the time my cab got shot up by gangsters?

  • @fehquig: you are so right about not dwelling on the not-so-nice happenings! Then again, it is important to not forget and become complacent. You have to always be on your toe swith a job such as yours (and his)!

NO!!! Or.. maybe I missed that vlog? Oh my LAWD!

  • That happened back in 1997 long before anyone ever vlogged... I think I wrote an article in soc.singles about it back in the day LOL Maybe I'll remember the details or even find a copy of my story and read it in the taxi someday...

  • Andy I don't know how you do it night after night. Putting up with block heads and drunks. Have you ever been robbed or gotten into a fight? Driving cab has to be an adventure at times... you got good stories. HA! Happy New Year!

  • The very fortunate side of it is that I can have ten or twenty or even thirty customers who give me no trouble before a real piece of work comes along... Last night I had those assholes from Christmas Eve in my car again, and they were just fine LOL

The last fight was back in 1993. Since then I have been lucky enough or skilful enough to avoid escalating a bad situation to any extreme...

People rob me all the time! When a credit or debit card gets declined and there is no cash, that's robbery.

  • You got sold? Are they gonna let you keep Cindy or is she going to another plantation? LOL I hope the new taxi is as good as this one has been.

At least the young drunk girls were cognizant enough to tip, that doesnt always happen. My NYE was fast and furious and over by 10:-)

Ya should have told the little stoner to smoke you out and and then you would smile8-)

Im glad your night wasnt too bad, HNY!

  • It's probably going to be a Prius... Yuck! They may be economical and they may require very little maintenance, but driving one is like driving a 1970s arcade game. There is no feel to it because everything is drive by wire, and the traction control system on those things makes them jump sideways at low speed in heavy rain...

One of the young girls was taught how to behave in public, drunk or sober...

THC makes me paranoid and uncomfortable... No Thanks!!!

It could have been MUCH worse. HNY!

  • You don't throw things away just because they moan.....LOL

  • When some things moan they are begging to be put out of their misery, but of course this does not apply to all things...

  • @fehquig Hehehehe....I am glad you have a sense of humor.....it keeps us both going.....It is a survival technique for sure:)

  • @LisaJMoore It truly is amazing how much abuse one can take when endowed with the ability to laugh at such abuse...

  • @fehquig Makes for some great great stories!

  • Changes, changes…

I always hate it when people tell you to smile.

  • I find it completely rude!

  • I hate changing my routine.

  • I don't much enjoy it either... I'm sure that some mornings when I'm tired I'll drive to the ex-owner's house.

  • What city do u drive in ?

  • I drive in Victoria, BC, Canada.

  • Sorry if I couldn't help but laugh at some of your misfortunes with backseat drivers. I drive a lot too, and I know what you mean about 'bone weary'.

  • It's really OK... If I didn't have a sense of humor about these adventures life would be very dull. Maybe the funny side of tragedy is what keeps me doing it year in and year out rather than just being a martyr or a glutton for punishment.
