This makes me cry. I cant begin to explain how much better this is than who he sold his song to (Brad Paisley) i love the orchestra. this is much more emotional :)
jon it was a pleasure meeting you in chicago, man when you and vince toured in 2006,and vince said that you use to be in his band, singing high harmonie's and playing acoustic.....you are unreal...
Every song is born from the heart of the writer and deserves to be heard as originally conceived. This is a shining example of why. Thank you, Jon Randall, for this incredible song.
got to meet jon in chicago,2006 he opened up for vince gill, and he use to play in vince's band and sang all the high harmonie's,and vince made the comment that i thought i would ever meet a guy who could sing harmonie's over my lead vocal's.
I love this video. I had no idea that John Randall was the writer. I heard one song of his on a country music radio station in a 'vote for your favorite song of two' contest. His song didn't win that night, and I have never heard that song again. It was excellent though, and I wish I knew what the name of it was. I can't remember. I only remembered it was John Randall.
i would like to hear and see a digital recording of lagrimi di san petro come falda di nevee by olandi di lassus availuble on digital audiio music cds availuble inn record sttores
What an honor to hear this incredible song as performed by the writer who gave life to these poignant words. More powerful than any commercialized version as only the writer truly understands the meaning behind every story.
simply amazing...what an astounding piece of work. I fell in love with this song all over again just now...actually even more so. how I wish Jon would've saved this song for himself. you can tell that these are his words and emotion.. this version shows just how heartfelt these lyrics are meant to be and the amount of raw passion has to be taken into consideration while viewing it. brad and allison's version pales in comparison. congrats jon on a job well done. do give us many more...I beg you!!
oh wow, just wow, i thought nothing could beat Brad and Alison's version but by goodness was i wrong, this is as another user said very haunting and even more heart wrenching than the other version. I just dont know what one i prefer as both are as tear enducing as the other. beautiful breathtaking and very spiritually moving, what a lovely but sad sad tale it tells
Have you heard "lonely for a while"? i just loove the song but i can't find it!? is there anyone who can upload the song here on youtube? or at least find it for me maybe, then i would love you! ;)
goes to show...this song doesn't require two voices.....Jon is the creator and as such gives it everything!!!! Just a word of advice..don't listen to this version on a sad, Saturday midnight...
This is my favorite version of this song. No one can sing it like Jon does... (Although I did like Brad/Allison's version.) The CD this is on "Walking Among the Living" is terrific--if you like the song, you should buy the CD. (IMO)
Thanks for posting. JOn's version of his own song is great isn't it? Lots of folks don't know How much great live music is out there, and how many unfamous musicians are out there, who's musicianmanship surpasses many of the Pop artists (of course Brad is awesome)..but, point is ..Jon so deserves to get his due. he's been around a while and played with many big names. .....Glad ur showing folks what a great musician he is.

With all due respect..Brad and Alison.....Let Jon do this one. Jon Randall is a
monumental talent and should be heard by everyone. Writer, Singer, Musician..
If you haven't heard this man you have missed a talent that counts. The radio can
push Country Pop and its charts all they want....but Jon and his music are what
real country music is all about.
