This bike is brilliant. I sat on this bike when viewing it for a younger friend to see if its cool... And it is. The bike is large for a 125.... its 4 stroke and its got EFI. Water cooled, which is a bonus compared to a few others on the market and the bikes build in unmatched compared to anything out there. The size of this bike is more like an R6 and it also has a set up like the R6 with a much more agressive seating position over the handlebars. Giving a much easier ride into corners.

here in belgium for example , everyone owning a carlicense for 2years can drive 125cc without further drivingtests .

But when wanting a bigger engined bike , we need to get our motor-license .

If you then are older then 21y old , you only have one option, a license for the 'big bikes' , so why then bother for a 250cc when you need a 500/600cc to do the tests ...bit ridiculous rule, but that's how it is.

i have always wondered if there is a bit more power in the engine, as it gives out exactly 14.6BHP right on the limit , seems like that figure is too perfect to me, might be 1 more BHP or so in the engine, with a different engine map

but there are so many tests with the yamaha and cbr ... and they get the same top speed and acceleration

in the end it depends on the rider ... a real powerful bike with 125ccm would be aprilia with 32-34 hp

I just bought this bike, I can see the other comments that are taking the piss out of the 15bhp. I can see your point, it's not big and it isn't a world beater, but fuck me it's better than starting out on a little moped that sounds like a fart in a money box! It looks great and it feels great, especially for taller guys like myself. I don't want to stay with this forever, but for getting used to how a bike handles I'm setting myself up for the bigger boys like the R6 or R1. Don't be put off!

I wouldn't advise that on a sports type bike like this. As it's modeled after its bigger cousins the R-6 and R-1, the racing position is the same with this bike. The engine and bike would do 1600kms no problem, I'm just worried about you :P Make sure you take regular breaks, maybe once every hour or two, otherwise you'll strain your back. Otherwise, you'll be fine.

buy a second hand 1 off ebay or off an add though 125 super sports are hard to find in bike adds....average price of a blue 1 is about 2k gbp and a yellow 1 you could get around 1.4k and most other colors vary but stay close to 2k on ebay though a cbr 125 costs about 1.7k

I know quite a few people who have died on 600's.

As soon as they're old enough they go straight from having a 125 to a 600 and simply can't handle the power. I went from a 50cc moped back in the day to a 125, then a 400 onto 600. From there I went up to 1000 and I've stayed there since.

i dont reccomend a passenger on many 125cc.s except the big cruiser style ones, such as the old shadow. or the honda varadero. the suzuki van van or the new suzuki dr125sm and the yamaha wr125 series seem ok too. basically you have to think size = pillian but size = less speed and more cost you could get a pillian on smaller size 125cc's, but its very uncomfortable after a while. also, in the uk, a learner is not permitted to carry a pillian passenger
