Easier way to make it work:

1. Go to Settings in avast!! and disable the self-protection.

2. Go to the folder "%programdata%".

3. Go into "AVAST Software" [for avast! 6] or "Alwil Software" [for avast! 5].

4. Delete license.avastlic.

5. Reboot your computer.

6. Reinsert the license from this video.

There, easier than uninstalling right?
