This guy is one injury to MJD from making a huge name for himself. And I actually think Drew doesn't even need to be off the field for Jennings to make an impact. Always good to see an LU grad at the professional level. Go Jags!
No offense to whomever made this video, but this guy Jennings is too much of an upright runner to have any long-term success in the NFL ... in fact, he looks like every other prospect you see before a draft -- except that Jennings gets tackled rather easily (by non-D-1 opponents)
you say his blockers made him look good, and the person five slots under you say "he needs to stay behind his blockers", Wow... you guys must be watching totally different videos
Alright I'm not a scout but he doesn't look like he is very good at avoiding the tackle. Looks quick and runs hard but hopefully the Jags can coach him up a little.
Look at 0:35, he's got his reciever getting the block set up, but skips ahead and tries to take on the CB and safety
Look at 0:47, he had the reciever escorting him outside, and he cuts back in to where 3 guys are
look at 1:51, at first it works out for him, but he cuts back in front of his reciever and then tries to run over the safety- if that block was made, it would have cut off that angle for the corner and he would have been gone.
kmyette, hes 6'1'' and 231 lbs., thats not skinny at all. he explodes upwards on contact too, he just looks like hes running upright bc of his height vs the defenders height. i didnt know too much about this guy b4 then i started searching him up and hes pretty good. i wouldnt mind if my team took him if it came down to it.
Flowalicious dosen't know what he's talking about. He was the only player in Pitt history to start at RB as a true freshmen. He could have been a heisman-like player, but he transfered because his dad had diabetes. Get your facts right.
Oh by no means am i blasting you for your opinion, I'm just saying the kid is bigger than Peterson so I'm not worried about his running style you know lol
Ditto..solid back reminds me of Travis Henry..and strong mind because he took a year off...then came back with avengence..signs of someone who's hungry!!! But don't sleep on Jennings..he transferred from Pitt he's got talent
Dude is a straight line runner with average speed for a running back who played in a weak football conference in college which led to his inflated numbers. There's a reason he transferred out of Pit, he's not that good and wasn't going to see the field that often. All of you Eagle's fans that want him, take him. He'll be a hack in the NFL where the linebackers he'll face are bigger and faster than him.
not bad hes gona be good in the NFL in the right scheme. thought he would have been a lil more powerfull then that and break a few more tackels beening 230lbs
Personally I jus dont like Wells...I kno he was good in college but I jus dont think hes gon be as good in the NFL...his style is kind of bully and I dont think that its translate well in the NFL...I jus have a bad feelin but I jus have that feelin. I think that Jennings will be better because of his running style and his style of cuts and overall field vision and I jus have that feelin....
Judging how the RB class isn't highly touted and the 2nd round is stacked with talent at OLB,CB,DT and C and OT and TE and WR I doubt he makes it into the 2nd round. Shady McCoy, Donald Brown and maybe Shonn Greene will be in the 2nd round. Heck Moreno or Wells could fall into the 2nd round.
Can you picture an offense next year with D-Jax, Boldin, and Curtis at receiver and Westbrook and Jennings at RB. We could soften up the defense with Rashad, and then Westbrook would have another season like 2007. Plus, Donovan would finally have some guys to throw to. It would be a "pick your poison" type of offense.
eagles better get him. He reminds me kind of like a younger brian westbrook, only a lot bigger. He catches the screen passes, and makes people miss just like Westbrook. Hopefully he won't be as injury prone. EAGLES 2009 SUPER BOWL
He's looks like a pretty balanced back... Not sure about his blocking yet. He's good at setting his blocks and he does have a decent amount of speed for his size... his hands are better then advertised. he looks to be a solid back up in a two back role... possibly could develop in to a starter... much like Tim Hightower did...
he would fit nice with my eagles he has a lot of power let him wear down the defense and then let westbrook and booker come in to delivery the final blow
same here. he is dirty. hopefully booker improves and we can get a earth wind and fire. with jennings, booker and eckel. Eckel beyyer start at fb next year
why you worried about three years from now. Don't you know that good backs come in the draft all the time. Sure this kid looks pretty good but lets see how he runs vs nfl defenses instead of cupcake grandcentral flower valley twits. I could run for 1500 yards at liberty... come on. He is nowhere near the player of westbrook though plus he is a bigger back with less speed. way diff... westy 5-9 200 jennigns 6-1 230 totally diff backs. maybe a linebacker not the corp though, bradley played at a pro bowl level through most of the season. akeem jordan seems like he could be a good player. but gocong needs to be upgraded. i think we need a possession receiver whether it be a wide out or tight end and a powerback is needed. but you are right a rb is not a top prioritiy
hey bitch. im an eagles fan which means i know the eagles. westbrook is 29 like u said, but he gets hurt a lot and we need a quality backup who will someday start and a power back. Jennings fits the bill. Thats all i'm sayin. The eagles dont need boldin so u r wrong on that. They are fine at wr right now with curtis djax and avant. Baskett and Pettigrew will provide good red zone abilities. With me saying that i believe the eagles will draft...
does this fill there needs freedom fighter????? Tight end...check offensive tackle...check power back/quality backup....double check (jennings and bush) replacement for gocong....check fullback who can catch mcnabbs shitty passes....check backup safety who could start one day... watkins was just a potential pick who will probably not make the team
he's extremely different from Forte, his feet are different, his stride is different, cuts, everything - I think he has a chance, but I think Forte is a much better back. Maybe Jennings is faster though?

Think of it this way...yea he gets taken down by first contact alot but look how many yards he gets before he gets that first contact. Remember he doesnt need to break everything 50+ yards bc last time I checked you need 10 yards for a first down( most of the time). If he only rushes for 5 yards on first down thats ok. Bc now its 2nd & 5 and 2nd & 10. Plus remember hes gonna get a whole lot of practice before he plays his first game so I think he'll get used to the hits more. I say lets jus c...
not to mention in his junior year he ran for over 100 yards in the first half against toledo and was a starter at pitt as a freshman.....dont sleep on my man
he was my mentor my freshman year and tha guy is a greater person than athlete and that says alot because he is about 6'2 at about 235 wit a great set of hands and 4.4 speed legit at Liberty Pro Day....he will be a factor with whoever picks him up and dont forget he can pass block very well
Not all backs should break tackles, they just need to break the arm tackles and use their blocks. I'll take a workhorse anyday over a guy that gets back the line every touch and then busts one for 70.
I kinda like what I see here. He does take too long of strides through the line which will get him tackled sometimes in a lane. He does know how to use the blocks provided and if he gets drafted to a team with good blocking he'll be A-OK.
However, when good players get to the NFL they only get better. IF he makes it in the league he'll have been coached enough before he hits the field to know to take shorter strides.
well he's good at blasting through giant holes and capitalizing on poor coverage on swing passes and screens. Breaks the easy tackles, sure. I wanna see more of 2:04 (delivers a nice shot there). He uses his arms well at keep separation from defenders. He's got outstanding speed; that's for certain. I'm not gonna judge him by this selection alone, but I don't see anything that stands out in particular. Someone got a link to more polarizing stuff?
Are you serious? The ravens have the 2nd best rushing attack in the nfl with three rbs under the age of 27 including one thats 21. Why would they waste a pick for someone they really don't need? Instead they should use it for depth in the CB position or offensive line.
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
He gets taken down by almost every first reasonable hit, at 230, in college, at a little shitty university like this? C'mon, he shouldn't be stopped like that so often, he's not THAT fast he's just going to a shitty school that plays awful teams.
It doesnt matter what school he plays a tackle is a tackle no matter who does it, he would have had good yards in pitt if he stayed and probably wouldve been a high pick who knows many people played at small schools and bin counted out and turned into beast in the NFL ask Brandon Jacobs...
brandon jacobs didnt get taken down by any corner or safety who looked at him though. also, brandon jacobs has 20+ pounds on this guy, and quicker feet it seems.
i agree he has about 20 more lbs but in noway does he have quicker feet, just becuz he plays in a lower division and gets tackles doesnt mean n e thing everybody gets tackled... the NFL looks at much more than that come draft time
Maybe your right about the Gmen and the Jets but i think the broncos will take Knowshon or atleast consider with him being better than Hillis and Young ya kno... either him or the best Defensive player
Stick1600: He left Pitt because his Dads leg was amputated due to complecations with Diabetes and he wanted to help his mom take care of his Dad and didn't want her to Drive to the Pitt Games by herself from VA. Liberty is in his home town so he transferred.
If you still can't root for him knowing that and the Eagles acquire him, I guess you can just look away from the game when he's running.
As an eagles fan i wouldnt mind having him, but the fact that he goes to Jerry Falwell U makes it impossible for me to root for him. I mean those people are so stupid that they dont even believe in evolution and they believe the earth is 10,000 years old. Super Christians suck balls
Just saw a mock draft that has him going in the third round to the Eagles. As an Eagles fan I think it could work, but I would much rather have Shon Greene from Iowa. Not as tall but runs through "better" players.
This is the first video i've seen of Jennings, and I am very impressed. Solid speed, hard running, good moves; Jennings could easily be a starter in the NFL.
Oh, and thank you to "TheFirstCar" for posting this video for us to see!
Rashad and I grew up a couple houses from each other and I was the one kid who could outrun him hahaha. If he sees this, he'll know who this is! Congrats on eveything you've done man.

However, when good players get to the NFL they only get better. IF he makes it in the league he'll have been coached enough before he hits the field to know to take shorter strides.
khlr35 3 years ago
well he's good at blasting through giant holes and capitalizing on poor coverage on swing passes and screens.

I hope the Ravens get him. Look at Matt Forte of the Bears. He went to Tulane and look at him now.
Ginga 3 years ago
but the Ravens have one of the best rushing attack in the league with McGahee and McLain and they also have Rice, why would they want another RB?
RhysQuinney 3 years ago
Are you serious? The ravens have the 2nd best rushing attack in the nfl with three rbs under the age of 27 including one thats 21. Why would they waste a pick for someone they really don't need? Instead they should use it for depth in the CB position or offensive line.

jennings is 5 star talent he would of been starting at pitt but he left to be close to his father because his father was very sick
chitownboyz 3 years ago
the only tackles i see him constantly breaking are arm tackles and that wont do in the NFL.
i only see him an average third down back, nothing more.
yearbend2 3 years ago
3:33 I'll give him props...
But, really he does not take first contact well strides are a little to long through the line.
Better than Beanie Wells umm thats a strong statement that I just don't know you have the right to say.
Could he make it definitely.
If he is a elite player I see a Larry Johnson / Jamal Lewis type back.
But I see more of a Cedric Benson / Rudi Johnson
*Anyways he has pretty good hands and speed I truly see a better reciever because of his natural long strides.

This comment has received too many negative votes show
He gets taken down by almost every first reasonable hit, at 230, in college, at a little shitty university like this? C'mon, he shouldn't be stopped like that so often, he's not THAT fast he's just going to a shitty school that plays awful teams.
nate1493 3 years ago
It doesnt matter what school he plays a tackle is a tackle no matter who does it, he would have had good yards in pitt if he stayed and probably wouldve been a high pick who knows many people played at small schools and bin counted out and turned into beast in the NFL ask Brandon Jacobs...
Bossrah 3 years ago
brandon jacobs didnt get taken down by any corner or safety who looked at him though. also, brandon jacobs has 20+ pounds on this guy, and quicker feet it seems.
yoonietang 3 years ago
i agree he has about 20 more lbs but in noway does he have quicker feet, just becuz he plays in a lower division and gets tackles doesnt mean n e thing everybody gets tackled... the NFL looks at much more than that come draft time
Bossrah 3 years ago
He's gonna be a beast in the NFL he's a faster Beanie Wells would be a first round pick if he went to a big university.

LeSean McCoy - Rams
Need a dynamic duo, like the Titans, Jets, and Panthers
Knowshon Moreno - Pats
need a rb that doesn't need a lot of carries to be good.
Javon Ringer - Giants
Derrick Ward probably won't sign with the G-Men next year
Shonn Greene - Saints
McAllister will probably not be around next year. If not picked by the Saints, he goin to Phili. If he goes Saints, Rashad Jennings go to Phili
C.J. Spiller or Donald Brown goes to Bucs because Dunn probably won't be there next year
chuch1064 3 years ago
Chris Wells-Browns
Knowshon Moreno-Broncos
Lesean Mccoy-Jets
Javon Ringer-Packers
Shonn Greene- Bengals
Rashad Jennings-Eagles
C.J. Spiller- Rams

Yes
No - Broncos will have Selvin Young back next year along with Hillis
No - i dont think mccoy is going to declare, but if he does, the jets don't need him, they have jones and washington
No - Giants need Ringer more than Packers. Packers need defense
Yes
Yes
Maybe - Rams do need a complement to jackson
chuch1064 3 years ago
Maybe your right about the Gmen and the Jets but i think the broncos will take Knowshon or atleast consider with him being better than Hillis and Young ya kno... either him or the best Defensive player

He's going to the Browns.

Stick1600: He left Pitt because his Dads leg was amputated due to complecations with Diabetes and he wanted to help his mom take care of his Dad and didn't want her to Drive to the Pitt Games by herself from VA. Liberty is in his home town so he transferred.
If you still can't root for him knowing that and the Eagles acquire him, I guess you can just look away from the game when he's running.
nicktripp 3 years ago
As an eagles fan i wouldnt mind having him, but the fact that he goes to Jerry Falwell U makes it impossible for me to root for him. I mean those people are so stupid that they dont even believe in evolution and they believe the earth is 10,000 years old. Super Christians suck balls

Sub 4.5 40 time. Beastly frame. True team player with a great attitude. May make a pro-bowl someday.

Eagles should get him and apir him with West-36
phillyeagles217 3 years ago
Just saw a mock draft that has him going in the third round to the Eagles. As an Eagles fan I think it could work, but I would much rather have Shon Greene from Iowa. Not as tall but runs through "better" players.

This is the first video i've seen of Jennings, and I am very impressed. Solid speed, hard running, good moves; Jennings could easily be a starter in the NFL.
Oh, and thank you to "TheFirstCar" for posting this video for us to see!

When is he gonna be back on the field? Oh and those recruiting vids are hilarious. I can totally see the LUnatics doing that. lol.
mrpinkpanther2010 3 years ago
He's already back. He had over 100 yards vs Western Carolina.
And thanks on the LUnatics videos. We had fun doing them.
