Men vad gör man?

  • I made an older model Mercedes NG daycab from a 1:14 Tamiya r.c. Mercedes SK.

I didn't read the descriptions of your movie, I was too busy to watch al the movies of your model.

Soon there will be an update of my KuKa garbagetruck, your model looks so far the best of all the big scale garbagetrucks I've ever seen!

  • @KuKa215

The cab definately looks good on your truck! I am looking forward to that update.

    And thanks! :-)

  • I' m busy for about 3 years now with my model so there will be no second one in the near future.

Cause of the lack of equipment I have to build mine mainly out of plastics.

The model you made is very nice made of metal, what truck are you using for this model?

  • @KuKa215

    3 years.. OMG! =)

It's all in the description ;-) Oh well, It is a Wedico Volvo F12 converted to a daycab. You converted a Tamaiya cab, right?

  • Great model, will it be r.c.?

I am building at the moment a Mercedes Benz NG with a KuKa RotoPress body in 1:14 scale.

It will be fully functional and r.c. driven

  • @KuKa215

Thanks! Yes it will be completely r.c!

I have already watched your videos several tiimes, and I am looking forward to see the progress with your truck. =) Do you have any plans to build more trucks when your KuKa is finished?

  • this is a fantastic model rear loader i would love to have one of these and if i was to win some money or even get a loan would you be kind enough to make me one .can you crush thin bits of wood ect like matchsticks

  • @robinsonm08

Take a loan to buy a refuse truck model? Doesn't sound like a very good idea! Anyways I can say right now that I will never build another copy of this truck. It is way to time consuming and expensive.

It crushes matchsticks without any problems. It also crushes thicker pieces of wood.

  • @Gloomshadow I know it does not .Do you have any ASAM model Norba 's i have just 1 that i was so lucky to get .

  • @robinsonm08

I have no refuse truck models except for the ones I have built myself. Oh, except for a bruder rear loader, with a lightly modified packer (packer plate scortened in order to provide clearance over the hopper floor, and the "extra packer plate" is removed)..

  • eigenbau?

  • @basch852

    Ja, es ist eigenbau.

  • @Gloomshadow ich bin beeindruckt :) richtig gut geworden!! Wie viel Arbeitsstunden hast du denn darein gesteckt?

  • @basch852

  • @Gloomshadow ach gramatik interessiert keinen kannst auch du sagen :D wer

  • Wow I don't think the word BRILLIANT covers what you're showing us! I was just expecting a couple of pack cycles in this one, then the unloading process comes along... the tailgate even jumps out of locks!!! haha Listen to her powering up at the start too :) I'd definitely look into creating versions of side loaders, front loaders, hook-lifts, skips, cable roll-offs and dino roll-offs... you'd make a fortune selling these - I am pretty convinced I'd buy one!!!

  • @MitchellM15

Thanks!! Glad that you noticed the tailgate locks, they actually work exactly like on the original! =)

Regarding building other types of trucks: I have plans, but have not yet decided what my next project will be. Either a new rearloader which will be my own design, not a replica, or a front loader. If you want a hook roll-off loader, or a skip loader, leimbach-modellbau sells both!

  • @MitchellM15

I have recieved the question before if I would be willing to build and sell refuse truck replicas. But I don't think that it would be possible. The manufacturing cost and the time it takes to build them would result in a price tag way above what people expect. If they were serial produced it would be different. But even then it would be very expensive.

    :-(

  • @Gloomshadow I couldn't miss the way the tailgate raised before it swung open, very catchy moment =] Well I imagine there will eventually be another truck to show us and I already can't wait to see what it'll be! I checked out the MAN hook-lift they build, a very impressive truck. Yeh I can imagine something like this would cost something substantial, how long has it taken you to build to this point?

  • @MitchellM15

I thought so too the first time I saw it! I must admit that I was nervous, as I was not entirely sure that the cylinders would be strong enough. The hydraulic system already runs at 15 bar instead of 10 and I can't put bigger cylinders on the tailgate lift function. Theoretically it should work, but was hard to be sure. ;-)

There will probably be more trucks from me. I currently plan on a RL which will be functionally optimized: Powerful, but not a scale model of an actual truck.

  • very fantastic!!!! from lego to this! absolutley amazing!! great job!

  • @heatran345

Thanx! Working with metal allows you to make a far more realistic truck! =)

  • Thanx for the kind comments! I have built it completely by myself (but the parts "silouettes" have been either laser- or water-cut.

The model is powered by "real" hydraulics (oil), working at 15bar. This gives a 30kg pressure on the downward motion of the blade.

  • I just saw the rest of the video xD I can't believe you've incorporated the whole emptying system as well! Is it hydraulically or pneumatically powered?

  • Oh my gosh, this looks incredible! Amazing engineering, built all yourself?
