Well Done-- the lyrics fit well into a folk style for sure and you bring soul right into the song.
I lost a friend a few years back, I heard a guy do this song on the street corner-- I feel it's right, done raw, acoustic. You did a beautiful job, imbued it with dignity.
A Hoyt Axton song. lol He wrote it. I can't remember if his version was produced first or if he wrote it for Steppenwolf. I would have to research it. Both versions are excellent. Gerry, you're right up there with the best.
