They completely destroyed Iron Forge compared to that one. If they backed up Iron Forge before they fucked up, Iron Forge would be the main city again. Blizzard never gives what players actually want.

If only they have kept the alpha Ironforge,instead of the current one.

Blizzard sure has put a great effort on the game,but the dwarves don't have a "dwarflike" feeling.What i'm saying is: compare ironforge to shadowforge city,ironforge is just an underground city,where shadowforge city is simply a labyrinth.If only Shadowforge was the Dwarves capital.I know that is would be congusing for newbies,but well it would be epic too.

wow i think IF looked more like a city when it had 2 levels. confusing, but (this is a really nerdy observation) it would be better defense wise too. enemies can literally do laps around the city now... and it 'looked' colder which would make sense too.

and i liked how old SW had the shadow of the castle in the BG. i wish the keep was an actual castle..

IF was actually never this way. Ive been playing since 04 and its always been one level. (you can exploit into the hall of thanes) anyway, IF was never this way in vanilla WoW. this is just what it was supposed to look like but this design was scraped because they thought it was easy to get lost.

No it was because at the time not everyone had a really good computer.

So for Blizzard to earn more money they made the game more accesable for people off all computers.

WoW's current setttings are just basic now i can run like 3 wows at once on my computer and maybe 4 if i push it.

Alpha IF had such a great feeling to it with all difrent levels, stairs, bridges etc.

But i guees this city would have been less playerfriendly (Especially in Vanilla, No mount before lvl40, And you spended a great deal of your time running around the continents by foot) But i'd still rather have this IF with a few modifications.

The Ironforge we have now is just so flat and booring.

They probably changed IF because it has a Undercity-esque layout to it. They want to keep things separate, so they changed it. Old IF looks absolutely awesome though, but if they didn't change it, Lagforge would still be Lagforge to this day.

Old Ironforge IS still in game. You just can't access it on Retail. You can access it on a Private Server though.

My method was to go on my hunter and get close up to the door in Lord Magni's room that goes to old IF till my bear disappears, glitching inside, then i use eyes of the beast and run in.

That's so cool. I just wish I got to experience old World of Warcraft and even Alpha stage. Joined WoW about half a year before BC came out so I didn't get a chance to level to 60 before that since it took me FOREVER to get there. The Alpha IF looks way better btw. They could have just filled in all that extra space with vendors and cool things but kept to shape of it. Much more interesting. SW sucked back then I can see though -.-

Cool! I kinda remember this IF, but I played Horde more so not really that familiar. I was in the F&F since about '02. I've still got my CD's with the older builds on them somewhere. I'll have to see if I can install them and sandbox them to see this first hand. I remember when the world ended in Felwood too, with "Under Construction" barriers and Guardians of Blizzard that would try to kill you! Good times!
