@ToothmaniaX Same here. I left the RCA cables and removed the digital audio port to make room for the VGA connector. At first I thought the RCA being connected was creating a short. If you made yours just like this guy did then maybe thats not the case. Did you ever figure it out?

i tried to make a component/VGA cable where i just connected the red/green/blue to the original AV cable and a old VGA cable and then connected the v/h sync to the VGA cable as well.

Everything is fine except when i connect the vga cable to my monitor the colours are stuffed up even though i'm 100% sure i didn't mix the red/green/blue connections.

Do you know why this is happening? Thanks

@cln613 sometimes this can be caused by the xbox itself, i had an xbox and i replaced the x-clamps put arctic silver on the cpu and gpu, then i started the console and it worked fine. Try other leads too,if you dont have another lead buy a cheap one from a game shop or on ebay

rgbhv? I read the xbox carrys H&v on on the green? Is the H&V even needed? For those trying to post here "VGA is as good as other connectors" NO ITS NOT, learn to read before you talk. VGA can support 1080 but it is a degraded signal, I compare monitors side by side with different cables and high end graphics chipset, and let me tell you VGA is a horrid signal @ 1080p, but IF its all you can do on your xbox, you should choose it over composite and component ONLY.

why would he, the 360 can even display VGA's max resolution. VGA can do up to 2048x1536, thats better then 1280x720 "HD" or 1920x1080 "Full HD"

Just so you guys know, instead of using the VGA Adapter which is only analog, YOU SHOULD use an HDMI-to-DVI cable, it will give you the fullest/highest quality of uncompressed High-Definition digital video possible. Since HDMI and DVI have the exact same video quality, why would you use some old analog technology instead?

THe xbox 360 eleite has an HDMI output built in, which you can adapt to DVI. However the normal 360 doesnt support anything but Composite, Componant, S-Video, and VGA
