  • Excellent vid mate, you prove to the youngsters brainwashed by bite alarms and bivvys that fishing is really about catching, using the simplest methods, and actually having fun, keep em coming, your session remwnds me of a Sunday morning on a lake in warwickshire, one of those days.

  • females fight harder

  • Ahh.. Crucian carp, my favourite next to the Tench.

I've just started fishing again after 27yrs and watching this vid reminded me of when I used to fish as a lad in a Lake called Channels, near Chelmsford.

I used to spend all day banging out Crucian and Tench right at my rod tip. It wasn't very long though before it became a big Carp lake and I dare say now it's a syndicate club.

  • nice vid mate check out our fishing channel please

  • Great video, there's just something special about crucian carp.

Do you mind me asking who makes that folding chair? it looks perfect for travelling lightweight.

  • @ReadingAngler hi mate thanks. No problem atall mate, its made by colman and its indreably light and stron fantastic bit of it mate.

  • really good videos, very informative and very well eddited, keep it up :)

  • @carpcrazyscott Thanks mate!

  • Good vid mate, didn't realise commercials were that easy! Still bloody hate them though.Nevertheless nice crucians and keep it up!!

  • Fantastic video mate. Theres a place near me that has crucians up to like 4lb. You catch them sometimes but when you catch them you catch loads, theyre great fun. Keep it up!!

  • @SamTheFisherMan100 Thanks. Crucians can be like that sometimes often moving/swimming around in large but tightly packed shoals. The larger ones tend to seem to be more nomadic or just in pairs, ones and twos, hence why they can be very hard to catch.

  • great video one question, what float are you using ?

    Corkballpopup

  • @corkballpopup Thanks, a drennan glow tip antena 3bb.

  • @fenlandfisherman ok thankyou if just watched the video again and if noticed that you say what float it is in the vid.I must have mised it first time around.

  • Brilliant as ever mate, i love the 'passion for angling' feel you give your videos, top stuff.

  • @TotalCarping Thankyou!!

  • Holy crap, how many crucians did you catch there m8??? If I catch 1 its a red letter day - they dont stock them overhere and natural breeding has declined over the last years. Too bad, realy love crucians. My pb is 41 cm (twice actualy!) and I hope I can fish that pond again soon - its way up north.... Good vid, like your aproach to fishing. Was that music Mozart? Think I used that too... :P

(titel = Fishing: catching carp ide bream roach & an asp in springtime)

    Keep filming!

  • Hi mate thanks. Im not sure about the music mate, and i can quite remember just how many i caught now as it was quite a while ago but i know it was well over 20.

    Fenland

  • great vid mate :) have you got any tips on how to juggle exams and fishing because im struggling

  • @gloryglorythfc Your best bet, although its not a nice sollution is to put fishing to one side for a while and concentrate on your exams. Or if youre a carp fisherman take the revison with you and revise in the bivvy, but its still best to do it at home. However, if you still want to fish rather than solid revison, your best bet is to do what i do and do short evening or morning session for only a few hours and then revise the rest of the time.

    Hope that helps, and thanks.

    Fenland

  • @fenlandfisherman yeah i suppose ill have to lol. I'l cut it down to one short or day session every week or so. Thanks for the advice mate, keep up the good work

  • haha mate at 6:20 is that a spider crawling over your hat? thats some pucker crucian fishing mate especially since theyre supposed to be very hard to catch, good stuff

  • @clark144 lol yeah i noticed that durring the editing. And thankyou mate.

  • Lovely Fishing video as ever Fenland, the Crucians looked in very good condition.Well done fella.

  • @francolinobasco Thankyou mate!!

  • Nice video,I would sooner fish commercial fisheries where the fish are smaller but you can catch more.Last week during the hot days i fish the pole in the margins around 15 inches deep.I had sevaral crucian carp simalar sizes to your plus mirror carp upto 11lb and commons was my best days fishing.Feeding a bed of hemp and hook bait of stawberry lucnhon meat.Lost a couple aswell lol.

  • @xxxxl2009 Thanks mate. And i completely understand where your coming from as it was really nice to get a bend in the rod! But its presonal prefrence at the end of the day and beeing a specimen hunter, that title often leads me to less well stocked warters and harder venues. But again, thanks.
