  • that's what bethesda see and go and make pretty games with no substance in gameplay.

they justly think pretty will sell itself, because it's what people want.

  • me want me want me want!

  • I loved this mod for Oblivion, but how do I get this to work for Skyrim?

  • @BvlgarigovIT you wait for the release of the CK and someone will up it almost immediately (as it's already in the game, like when it rains)

  • @Wizard0fAtlantis Yea, found that out later the day I posted that question. Also I use a lot of mods for graphical enhancements, (probably like most of you as well) and the default DoF was turned off. Turned it on and the default looks good, but I still think the dynamic DoF that was made for TESIV is amazing looking and does add a amazing effect in game in my opinion.

  • Skyrim version please !!

  • i'm trying to get this to wrok

but some shaders just make it look even worse or not work at all

i guess i just have to exp a bit more

btw, does ati cards still have trouble with godrays?

pff would be very long day fixing this crap

  • @landialiha I have an ati card, and sometimes I got godrays to work and sometimes not. It also seemed to depend on the particular build/version of obge I was using. These vids were made using old versions. Try the Bethsoft forums for specific help with this. Good luck!

  • @Wizard0fAtlantis

I'm having conflicts trying to use this with qarls texture pack III and a few other misc. mods.

  • DO IT FOR SKYRIM OR SO HELP ME!

  • all those effects, and all that sucky texture. SOMEBODY SHOULD MAKE A TEXTURE PACK THATS LIKE HQHDHDD SUPER DEFINITON :D

  • @Westworldah its call qarl's texture pack

  • @jabba969 What im saying is that the textures is bad. Qarl is dealing with some but not all.

  • @Westworldah I know, but hey, what do you expect from a game from 2006?

  • @jabba969 Nothing really big, but i can expect something from the community, since they make all that ridiciously adult stuff, why not just make textures? Its much better.

  • @Westworldah Yea, its a shame it looks like only perverts make mods for oblivion these days...

  • @jabba969 Yeah, i have a friend i tried to convince to play Oblivion instead of Skyrim and when he looked at Nexus he found out all them adult stuff and hes mad at me now. Anyways IMO i think Oblivion is better.

  • @Westworldah I dont think oblivion is better, the problem is my pc can barely handle skyrim :( and there are just so many great mods for oblivion that it never gets old :D

  • @jabba969 Exactly! But IMO i think that Skyrim is too easy. You can be a allround guy!? You could be that in Oblivion too but that was sooooo haaard. And playing on Master difficulty is so easy! I do that and im level 35 and im OP.

  • Dynamic DOF in Skyrim!!!!

    please!!

  • Now OBGE's DoF is unusable if you intend to actually play the game or use 3rd person... but eh... whatever floats your boat.

  • @AmvFr34k what do you mean?

  • @Wizard0fAtlantis Well, when I tried it in 3rd person mode it used to keep changing the focus all the time. It's meant for first person gameplay, simply put. I didn't have that much success with options-tweaking as far as I can remember, but I think I didn't take too much time trying either.

It's still a nice effect, don't get me wrong. It's a nice project, even though it has a very strong effect on the GPU and it's speed; almost a little too much for my computer. :X

  • @AmvFr34k Ah, I see what you mean. That shows you how little I play in third person! lol : )

  • I really hope modders can make Skyrim look like Crysis. DOF, atmospheric effects, lighting, and textures. The DOF here looks kind of choppy.. in Crysis it's a very smooth transition.

  • To me every game should have dynamic depth of field and god rays makes them so much more imersive. But then again some people don't like them.

  • Sorry I'm sure you get this all the time but I have to ask. How did you get such realistic faces? I have tried a couple of mods (basically they just make everyone look "pretty") but I am really digging how realistic/cut the faces are in your video. Again, sorry if you have been bugged about this too much I had to ask though it's fantastic looking.

  • @sneakykatze82 that might have been an effect from having Waalx's work...I have a video of his animals and creatures mod. It's a very large and comprehensive mod but If it's not that, I don't know. I can't remember what mods I had loaded up (and I don't have the load order).

  • So fucking awesome.

  • two worlds2 is much better

  • @7606Nelly You funny guy.

  • @7606Nelly i dont think you get mmos

  • @TheXPSgamer

I agree with that, I think the shaders use every tiny bit of gpu that's available, without any efficientcy. Does anyone know btw, how you can play Oblivion on multiple core processors? I've heard Oblivion only uses one, and I think there will be a big performance boost if I can configure that Oblivion can use 3 if my 4 core processors:D

  • Godrays are time specific, so if you try to get godrays working you should take a look at sunset and sunrise. I got it working and Ive got a Ati Radeon HD4770.

I recommend to use the standard DOF, Godrays, SSAO (high q/low p) and some HLSL colour correction in standard mode. It will look beautiful, especially witch natural environments and Qarls texture pack. Put on HDR and you have a game what can compete against Crysis and Skyrim graphics.

  • @Syphr54 I wouldn't argue with that if it weren't for the fact that the textures for areas that aren't loaded in the distance are an EYESORE. And the fact that I can run Crysis 2 on Max settings without lag but these shaders kill my FPS.

  • @TheXPSGamer

Crysis 2 is static low poly shit. What are you proud of?

  • @StMalk Lol, 5 months ago. Crysis 2 also had an update to DX11 and high texture pack... I have a new computer now anyway haha

  • @TheXPSGamer

It doesn't make it any better anyway. Crysis 2 graphics is way too worser than Crysis and Crysis WH graphics.

  • @StMalk They were before the DX11 update. Who gives a shit anyway?

  • @Syphr54 Skyrim? ROFL. When Skyrim comes out there will be more Graphics mods than TES IV. You could expect something that looks even better than Crysis with graphics mods.

  • I seriously doubt you know how to fix this, but I have HDR on in Oblivion, and its too busy making my sky too bright for me to see the Godrays, OR it's simple not working. All my other shaders work, I've tried messing with the shader, when I do get it to somehow work, its a flickery mess. I have a GTX570, so old graphics card is out of the question. Maybe too new? If you can help it would be appreciated. Using OBGEv3

  • @TheXPSGamer, youre not the first person to ask me about that gpu. :/ For specific information, you will have to go to the Bethsoft forum for the mod. I think the link is on the mod page on the Nexus.

However, as one last experiment, you can try writing up a shaderlist.txt manually and put your shaders on it instead of using the support plugin. Godrays has always been the most difficult for me to get to work, too, in various installs of the game.

  • @Wizard0fAtlantis Well I actually have already been doing that. All shaders except it work. Maybe it is a 570 prob? Thanks anyway!

  • @TheXPSGamer , sorry to hear that, then! I would spend some time on the Bethsoft forum then. Good luck!

  • @Wizard0fAtlantis Yup. I picked up a new shader from the forum, and it worked flawlessly. Also I figured out the Motion blur shader for whatever reason makes me crash on loading! Yay! I don't need it though, my FPS is too high.

  • @TheXPSGamer, Fantastic! I'm so glad to hear that. Good gaming!

  • lol, i use OBGEV2 but i dont know how to use godrays or even use this, i just installed to use other mods, yet i would love to know how to do this all too (even tough im realy taring my graphic card to shreds now XD)

  • How do you get the godrays? :o

  • great for screenshots but i think very annoying when u play

  • What are the settings you used on the Boken shader? I don't get effects as good as these

  • @DavetzWin

Nevermind, I needed to change blur_radius on the shader file, I got it up to 1.2 and now it's just like in this video.

  • @DavetzWin, good job, then! I personally didn't change the shader, but it's possible I was using an older variant of it. These videos get old quickly. : )

  • Do you know (or anyone else) how to fix the blue spots that randomly appear? Also some of the graphics go spazzy...ive reinstalled 4 times and im 100% sure its OBSE's fault. Any help would be appreciated :)

  • @ViralZen, sorry, man. Never heard of blue spots. Spazzy graphics should be elaborated, but not to me, to someone more techno-minded. You need to ask that on the Mod's comment page on the Nexus, or follow the link to the Bethesda forum thread dedicated to the mod. There you'll find very technically-capable people who might be able to answer your question, based on your load order, hardware/graphics card, etc. Good luck!

  • @Wizard0fAtlantis Thanks for the quick reply....ive registered and asked on the nexus forums, but nobody has replied :/ Ive also posted on other multiple obse related videos on youtube, so hopefully someone will have an answer...(by spazzy graphics I was referring to graphics that become glitchy for no reason (flickering)). Thanks for the guidance though :)

  • @ViralZen, helpful replies come on the Nexus, but it may take time. The next step is the Bethesda thread.

  • awesome work...

  • ffffuuuuuuu i give up, i can't get those damm mods to work....

  • @tranche2pain, are you having problem with the support plugin perhaps? Have you written a shaderlist.txt instead and tried to manually load which shaders you want?

  • hahaha! i dont have time for fools. Stop talking enough. LOL at npc conversation

  • do you have any texture packs installed?

  • @dandil. I have the Reduced and Redimized omod of Qarl's textures, using the most reduced version.

  • @Wizard0fAtlantis what are the newest shaders? please reply

  • Comment removed

  • @Wizard0fAtlantis PLEASE reply. Your replying to everyone else but me. PLEASE tell me what shaders you are using. And where to download them

  • @mythicaldragonb3ast, I don't know what the latest shaders are. I'm playing New Vegas right now and have been for some weeks. I got the shaders that I used in this from the mod's page on the Nexus, that's all. : ) No tweaking or anything. The only mod which I ever change a variable in is the celshade+AA, to turn off the celshade and add a little blur around the edges. If you follow the mod page, and the discussion at the Bethsoft forum, you can stay much more up to date than I am. ; )

  • @Wizard0fAtlantis one last question. howd u get the colors like that? especially at the beggining. is it just by fiddling with the variables of the OBGEv2 shaders? if so, plz post ur shaders and settings

  • @dandil, I only have celshade+AA (toggled the celshade off), godrays, and volumetric ssao turned on. Other than the Qarl's omod, which regadless shouldn't affect color, the only thing I can think of would be Weather-All Natural that has some effect on the graphics. I really don't fiddle with the colors too much if ever by manipulating saturation, et al. I don't remember adjusting saturation for this video, though.

  • @Wizard0fAtlantis thanks ^.^

  • everytime I activate shaders my game lags. How do get that many fps for seconds with shaders acivated? Is it that you have a good computer or are you tweaking?

  • @mythicaldragonb3ast, which shaders are you using? The latest volumetric shader is very light compared to the old ones.

  • @Wizard0fAtlantis I either use DepthOfField Pseudo_Bokeh_DoF or Bokeh_DoF

  • @Wizard0fAtlantis Actully i'm using the shaders from the obse package shaders at tesnexus

  • Please give me the exact link of this mod on thenexus. Thanks!

  • @Spy0nu, youtube doesn't like links in comments, but here's what you do. Get on tesnexus, open up a search window from the tab, put in Oblivion Graphics Extender v2, and it will pop up. Download the OBGEv2 core and OBGEv2 Shaders files from the files tab on the mod's page.

If you use BOSS and the support plugin doesn't work, just manually stick it lower in the load order with Oblivion mod manager. Follow their instruction if that doesn't work on writing up a shaderlist manually. It's easy.

  • Nice video but I must ask, what kind of rig do you have set up (graphics cards and the like.) because this video looks amazing on 360p, it must be astounding when placed right before your eyes.

  • @DefiReality, I have a 2009 quad-core Mac Pro, and I'm booting into windows 7 64 I have installed on a partition. So we're talking 4 xeon nehalem cores @2.66, 4gb ddr3 ram, and an ati radeon hd 4870 512mb.

They keep optimising the OBGEv2 so that it does more with less of an impact on your fps. The new volumetric ssao is a miracle, does just enough for a realistic shadow but it is light as a feather compared to the first ssao's they put out (which were cool but ate 15 fps)
