Just starting to learn digital painting, is there a tool now that lets you colorize a black & white image without fading your highlights? Only thing I was taught years ago to colorize photos is to use color fills, but that required you to go back in and bring your highlights back manually. I'm quite sure that's the wrong way of doing it.
Also, sweet jeans + dat ass + all that good stuff.
There is no particular method to colorize an image, I personally use different ways for each illustration. Try playing with different layer blending modes (like color, hue, overlay ....) or attribute hue / saturation by using masks... there are plenty of other ways for the same result :)
I bet you have only learned half the tools when you were able to do this. Never touching the pen tool. Never touching the text tool. And never using filters. This video is beast!
It's funny, people always say it's cheating to use a photograph in a painting but this would honestly lose alot of it's appeal if you had just painted it yourself. Plus there's so much tweaks to it it on;y vague;y resembles a picture anymore. Sweet jeans is what i'm trying to say i guess. :P

@kiashadowwave They are not pockets, they are hand straps from when you are grabbing her ass.

I'd recommend painting in the phototextures more, looks a bit shopped atm, but great work. :)
