I love my babies, Bella is my 2 yr old black cocker, and we just got a 11 week old blonde and we named him Chester, They love each other, and are a joy to watch... I love them dearly and would hate if anything were to ever happen to either of them.

@milliebughugs No, because when we brought Amber home & for the first few days we only fussed her when Jet was out of sight and made a huge fuss of him, that way he didn't feel the need to get jelous. We also used to take him in the kitchen or treats whilst everyone else was in the other room making a fuss of Amber. As long as your sly about it both will be very happy and in a few days they will be friends and you can fuss them both when you want. I am glad I have 2 hands now though lol

Yes they did get on straight away,Jet is very laid back and so let Amber become boss. I have always found the best introductions are done on neutral territory that way there is nothing to guard/protect. You could ask the breeder if you can take your dog to the pup to be introduced, if not, do it in the park or anywhere asides home. When they have played together and are getting along then take them home together. You should find it easy enough, just watch them :)

@Do68Do We had a springer before the cockers. She was such a wonderful dog we didn't want another springer as her act would have been too hard to follow for any dog.
I have tried and tried at updated video's but they are never as good as this, I won't give up tryng though :)

My cocker spaniel Browny was ran over by a car we sent him to a vet but a day later he died of internal bleeding at 9 months now i have another cocker spaniel His name is Charlie hes 2 years old from the same mom as Browny but Different litter so yeah

I absolutely love this video. I have 3 cockers, they are all rescues, I lost 1 2 yrs ago from cancer, he was also a rescue & a sweetheart of a dog, we miss him terribly even though we still have 4 dogs that we love very much. cocker spaniels are great, although i've never had one. i had a yellow female labrador retriever before.. her name was sugar, but she died. we had to put her down a few years ago. i never realized what empy part inside me she had filled up until i lost her. and it's true.. dogs are one of your best friends you'll ever have, they'll love you for ever. i also got a pointer for my birthday at the pound when i was 7, she was a pup. that was a long time ago though, and she's 8 now, and now we have

I know Rio will be around for many more years even though he is almost 13 he is so healthy - I would love for him to have a "hiece" to grow old with, I think a "nephew", another boy, wouldn't go so well - what do you think?
Our thoughts were two males may fight for the top dog placement. In nature males see each other as competition, but females are accepted in. It's nice having one of each, they are different and not just in breed but nature too. You often find the male will not fight with the female to be boss... they're not daft. Lol I have no regrets bringing in a female and would definately do it again that way round in the future. I hope this helps :)

We were nervous about it too at the time, but we introduced them outside the house on neutral territory which helps. Let them play then take them home. Jet accepted Amber very easily. We made sure he got lots of fuss and tried not to make too much fuss of Amber while he was around. Now they can not be parted. Amber is the Alpha leader, Jet happily let her take over. Lol As for jelousy, as long as you monitor them in the begining and are fair with fuss you won't go far wrong :) Good luck xx

I lost my cocker spaniel in december, just before christmas.
He went everywhere with us and was probably the best friend I ever had. I had him since I was 1 year old. He died peacefully at 13, having lived a long and happy life, but I am miserable.
I am soo sorry this made you cry. I have also felt the hole a cocker can leave behind and know how huge it is. Perhaps one day you will have another to fill that gap. The pain will go away, but your lovely memories will always be in your heart. May your hurt heal soon. Jet and Amber :(
No, in Jet's head Amber just wandered in to our garden with us... in reality I drove a very long way to collect her in the normal fashion from a breeder. If only life were that simple :)

thank you so much for your response! My Rio is my best pal, my son, my reason to smile everyday- I do really want to get another Cocker, but I know the breed isn't important. I know Rio will be around for many more years even though he is almost 13 he is so healthy - I would love for him to have a "hiece" to grow old with, I think a "nephew", another boy, wouldn't go so well - what do you think?

Our thoughts were two males may fight for the top dog placement. In nature males see each other as competition, but females are accepted in. It's nice having one of each, they are different and not just in breed but nature too. You often find the male will not fight with the female to be boss... they're not daft. Lol I have no regrets bringing in a female and would definately do it again that way round in the future. I hope this helps :)

My Rio, a 12 year old American Cocker, loves all dogs and life! Ive been hesitant to get another pup for fear that he might feel jealous - but your video helps a bit...thanks for loving!

I love u 4 posting that! I have my 12 year old cocker Rio who loves all dogs, cats, life! But I've been hesitant about getting another dog- I worry that he will be sad that a new dog will take some love from him, or he won't be alpha, etcetc- I know he would love company - but I worry. your post helped me to know that Rio will be happy to share love. Next - finding a puppy!

We were nervous about it too at the time, but we introduced them outside the house on neutral territory which helps. Let them play then take them home. Jet accepted Amber very easily. We made sure he got lots of fuss and tried not to make too much fuss of Amber while he was around. Now they can not be parted. Amber is the Alpha leader, Jet happily let her take over. Lol As for jelousy, as long as you monitor them in the begining and are fair with fuss you won't go far wrong :) Good luck xx

This made me cry.
I lost my cocker spaniel in december, just before christmas.
He went everywhere with us and was probably the best friend I ever had. I had him since I was 1 year old. He died peacefully at 13, having lived a long and happy life, but I am miserable.
I miss him so much, it's horrible.

I am soo sorry this made you cry. I have also felt the hole a cocker can leave behind and know how huge it is. Perhaps one day you will have another to fill that gap. The pain will go away, but your lovely memories will always be in your heart. May your hurt heal soon. Jet and Amber :(

No, in Jet's head Amber just wandered in to our garden with us... in reality I drove a very long way to collect her in the normal fashion from a breeder. If only life were that simple :)
