hey snusify, i just made an order from the northerner and got some snus portions. i dip so i would prefer to put it in my bottom lip. would you advise against it or does it even matter?
What I do when using Loose, is to just grab the size I want, and push it against the edge of the box. Then make it into a triangle, and use your thumb and index finger to just take it slightly out of the box. Then you just shove it up under your lip. No need to make it into a ball, if you do it only make it take longer time before feeling the nicotine. When you take it out of the box, you have this nice triangle shape, and put the corner into your lip.

I just got my first can of general los today. My tobacconist gave me a can of it when i bought my general mint portions and said try a free can of los on him. I formed a prilla pretty easy with my hand just the way you did it in my palm. who needs an icetool? I absolutely love the los, but it is very inconvenient to use when im out. so los is for home, portions when im out. no more cigarettes for this guy. By the way, where are you from? I've just moved from portion to General extra stark loose. Since this is my first foray into loose snus, I haven't gotten an Icetool or Prismaster, but there is an even cheaper option if baking a prilla by hand is difficult. Get either a 5cc or a 10cc syringe. cut the tip off and voilla, a very cheapo icetool. Works the same as an Icetool. If I decide I prefer loose to portion I will invest in an Icetool, but for now, I'm going cheap.

@adoplussmordi this was a demo, if you search youtube 'bake a prilla' most are done this way. The way I do it for myself is a squash snus to the side of can, take the pinch shove it under my lip and bake with my tongue, takes 30 seconds.
It takes practice to bake snus, if you have trouble get yourself a snus portioning tool such as a cheap prismaster or an icetool. search youtube for videos titles such as 'bake a prilla' or 'bake a pris'
General ekstra stark was released for the Norwegian Market. So I guess if they dont stock the Lös version in your local shops you would have to get it online from northernerdotcom

My only problem is, my mouth produces a good amount of saliva. Might be why Los has never worked for me. I don't have a problem with the juices. I think you left out that since it is pasteurized, the juice won't make you sick.

and just to make things clear, I´ve been snusing for almost 4.5 years (yeah I´m swedish) and portion snus can be stored in the freezer for atleast 2 years, without any major difference in taste or smell. Few weeks ago I actually tried a snus from my very first can, it´s been in there for 4 years, great stuff really!
When it comes to Snus i prefer the pouches to the los by far, maybe im not giving the los enough chance but i find the pouches to have stacks more flavour, maybe it's because i really give my pouches some abuse squeezing them with my tounge and of course you can't do that with the los.
Anyone starting out id reccd a general portion, you can't go wrong with general, i always have at least 2 types of general in my rotation, normally General Portion and General Ekstra Sterk Portion.

regular loose snus is 8mg of nic per gram, regular portioned snus is 8mg of nic per gram, however you can use much more than a gram of loose at a time. So the strength is decided by the user in how bigger amount of use they choose to use. The little tool used is normally a syringe type devise called a 'prismaster' or icetool see my kronan snus review, and my icetool review.
regular snus keep for about week outside of the fridge, white portion maybe 2 week, snus keeps for several weeks in the fridge and upto a year in the freezer.

Its amazing to think in the 1920's this is all you would have seen in America unless you were in the Pittsburgh area where cope snuff was available. I think I am going to prepare a full history of snus and dip video, I have been researching it for a month or so now and this story needs to be told. It was the death of Snus in America that became the birth of Dip.

What is interesting is that really it is dip that is different as snus has been around for 300 years, it was swedish immigrants that took the idea to America and in the 1900's it was so popular in Chicago for example you got streets names 'snus boulevard' 'Snus junction' etc. then when American manufactured their own version in the 1930's brands such as Skoal were born.

So, is it necessary to really pack the snus? I've been trying and trying and just when I seem to have a nice pris it falls apart :(

If you put the prilla in the centre of the upper lip to either side of the middle of your front teeth it will reduce the amount of saliva.

What is interesting is that really it is dip that is different as snus has been around for 300 years, it was swedish immigrants that took the idea to America and in the 1900's it was so popular in Chicago for example you got streets names 'snus boulevard' 'Snus junction' etc. then when American manufactured their own version in the 1930's brands such as Skoal were born.

cool video that should be very helpfull to any americans who get loose snus i should be getting some general snus soon that i ordered a while ago of its a general snus im not sure if im getting loose or pouches cant really remember i will be doing a vid on that whenever it gets delivered should be some timme this month
