  • Really, it was awful to watch that! Be happy you have any fingers left. But you get bones off finally, that's ok ; )

  • why did you just pull the pin bones out with tweezers ?

  • ive seen bear grylls do a better job no offince

  • ive been watching tons of videos on how to fillet a trout cause ive been cuttin out the little strip of bones that are in the center of the trout and all the videos that ive seen no one took them out so i ddint know if they would fry up and u couldnt taste them or what. i was goin to leave them in there just to see but i didnt want to waste a nice fillet. but me and u are filleting are trout out the same way.

  • That was painfully slow, just a horrible method to follow.

  • ur slow> when ur eating those y bones u dont even notice them

  • @TopAZangler Oh really? lol Top angler I'm sure, moron.

  • @baffinjigger haha moron? r u 12?

  • @TopAZangler You can't filet a fish, why would you post a video... a detailed video on how bad you are at filleting fish? It must take you all day to clean and filet a dozen trout.

  • @baffinjigger no im actually pretty good at fileting trout

  • wow, cant believe what im seeing here. its sad that most americans know how to eat a fish without filleting it. you wasted up to 65% of edible meat when you fillet it.

  • @dzhotdog 65%????? you do realize that 65% is a gross majority, at most filleting the fish would waste 10-15% of edible flesh. But who wants to pick around bones! I've never had a shortage of fish to eat so i'm sure not starving by filleting all my fish.

  • I like your video and technique. That's a common way to do 6-15# fish like salmon. You did a good job. The bones are called pin bones in all salmon species (troout included) . If you want to see a slight variation that you might find to be a little faster and easier, check out my "learning to fillet trout with Joel" part 1 and 2. I leave the guts in and yield two boneless, skinless fillets in 45 seconds. BTW, nice bowl of fillets!! Good job! - Joel

  • yup. taking the skin off takes away that fishy taste, and for people who dont like fish(or the taste); they would like it if they trryed it cooked without the skin. its totally diferent. i dont mind eitherr way tho. nice size fish by the way.

  • how long was this trout?

  • that fish could be cuted without news papers,is just use the cuting board, the fish like that would not mess nothing!

  • Please ignore the negative comments. I am learning to filet trout and am watching many videos to gleen something from all of them. Everyone has a slightly different technique and I am getting pointers from all. Thank you very much and wish me luck....

  • All you need to do is gut the Trout, cut the head off and then cook it in aluminum foil over an open flame! After that the meat will slide right off the bone!!! no waste!!!!

  • @stanakanats really, i am new to gutting and filleting and cooking fish i usually throw em back but now i am keeping them, is that all there really is too it?

  • @Paintball1105 Yes! It's that simple!

I worked at a Trout farm for five years.....also its faster to use scissors rather then a knife to cut the trout open!

  • Completely pointless example of how to prepare trout. The knobhead's hand was in the way most of the time.

  • just cut the head off and there be more meat an cook it over a fire better too

  • good job mate, i've been wanting to know how to do this for a while. best vid i've found. cheers, helped a lot

  • Nice 1 man!

  • my god...

    journal?????

    wasted trout

    skin is pure OMEGA 3

    wasted skin...

    oh my god....

  • skin don't taste too good to me

  • @Brandonkop i love the taste of the skin on a fried piece of fish.

  • you take waayyy to long to fillet tat small trout man by an electric knife that the blade rotates back and forth its way easier and more eefficient

  • Yeah next time I'll bring a scalpel home from the hospital and see how it works, they slice through human skin very nicely!

  • Dr.Brandon, you should have used your scalpel ;)

  • That is a fillet knife, just a cheap one thats not sharp from Bass Pro Shop.

  • you should bu a fillet knife
