@jaworskij: I recall the 1981 station id at noon, right after CBC's airing of "Sesame Street"(now "Sesame Park")... zooming in on Downtown Toronto from all the way up in space, and then the "Midday" intro after zooming from the lakefront right past the CN Tower. Would you or anyone else here have that clip around? Thanks.
Wow! That really did. I remember coming home from elementary school and seeing/hearing that opening... and then thinking: "Okay. I'm going to watch the Flintstones on CFRN".
i remember this! i lived in the US but right on the border so i got CBC. i now have a pavlovian reaction to this theme. it makes me want PB&J because this always came on at my lunchtime...
As a child back then, seeing that clock on the TV meant that morning cartoons were finished.

I LOVE the fact that I can find these openings. Some of them were so damn catchy.
I remember grande prairie made it on the news back when no one seemed to know where it was. Woman standing in front of a fountain.
I'd love a dvd of news openings in canada throughout the years
thanks to whoever posted this i played it lots

By the way, how long did Midday use this intro? Because I remember it, and I was only 4 months old when this aired.

Do you have this or any other intro that goes through to the start of the news portion? Or was that just it?
